A short week after a loss to inferior team. Weather in the low to mid 80s at kick off. With a 10% chance of the difference maker from Navy.

If Tigers come out focused fully recovered from the loss then this one should be over before halftime. If they come out still down from the lost it should be over soon after half time.

Tigers should dominate both lines.

Many back ups should see the field in 2nd half and Tigers should recover their offense explosion seen in week 1.

Unfortunately the Navy loss is going to keep a lot of folks at home. It is what it is.

Numbers look about right. We have a "bend but don't break" defense that bent too much against NCST. Long story short, Wolfpack QB and WRs were legit. Our zone pass defense has some holes that accurate passers can exploit. Panthers are looking for a rebound game to get some frustration out. I'm not so sure it will be a standard blowout (who knows, maybe it will..i understand the navy game wasn't your norm) and the game could be competitive for the most part.

Run defense is our strength, stopping NCST's starting RB to 2.2 avg carry against some very big ACC OLs. Our DL and LB even stopped NCST in couple 4th and inches situations. Admittedly our defense was gassed by 4th and gave up quick TDs late, but the game was already lost at that point and the heat index was insufferable that day. Depth eventually played out during 4th quarter at NCST.

Offensively, we have all the pieces for a good aerial attack with nice QB and WRs, but they haven't been in sync yet. Our new QB Ellington is certainly a talented QB who doesn't rattle against pressure, but you can tell that there isn't 100% trust yet with his receivers. Hoping this gets fixed by conference play. We have some nice 6'4 outside WRs along with several excellent slot guys including Penny Hart. Our rushing offense has been abysmal, however, and it needs to improve drastically by mid-season. We do have some RB who can make things happen in the open, but the OL has been rather unimpressive at run block. From coach's interview, OL doesnt seem have a firm grasp of the scheme yet and there are some confusion up front.

I admit, I haven't followed Memphis closely. I'd love to read the rundown on your team. Hoping that I can call of work so I can make the trip to Memphis. I pray an injury-free game for both teams.

Thank you for your candor. I hope you will be able to follow your team to Memphis. Enjoy some bar-b-que Ribs, shoulder, brisket, and chicken. There are a lot of smokers in Memphis. Your injury prayer is very sportsman like, as are many of your other comments. Walk through Tiger Lane in your GSU colors and hopefully Tiger fans will return your generosity.

Henderson is 2nd nationally in all purpose yards averaging 205 all purpose yard a game. 6th nationally in rushing at 288 yards, averaging over 13 yards per carry. 5th in rushing yards per game averaging 144 yards per game. This with him sharing duty with Patrick Taylor. Henderson is only getting 11 rushes per game.

Passing yardage held down due to heavy rains during Navy game. Which brought totals offense down to less than 600 per game.

Weather is due to be mid to low 80s and dry at kick off Saturday which should make it a fast track for re-tuned Tiger offense.

Pollard average right at 40 yards a return last year on kick offs with 6 returned for TDs in 2 years.

So a couple of inside jokes related to GSU's relationship to Memphis.

We started club football in the early 2000s (2000 or 2001 if I recall). The club team ended calling equipment folks they knew across the SE for cats off equipment. We got a lot of used stuff from Kentucky and Memphis (Helps that we are all blue?). So let us know if you want your pants back.

When the actual NCAA program played its inaugural season in 2010 our second game ever was at home against Lambuth. We led 14-9 at the end of 3 and then had one of the biggest 4th quarter collapses in our history to lose 23-14. So since Lambuth is you and you is Lambuth we shall be avenged! But not really since nobody remembers or cares. But two interesting stories showing how interconnected the football world is.

It being on a Friday and competing with high school will keep many people away, along with playoff baseball at AutoZone park.

If you're D-line is coming in here thinking they are gonna get a break from those "pretty big ACC O-lines," they're gonna be a little disappointed. They're gonna be like this guy...

Maybe, maybe not. That's why we play the game.

Is this Memphis' depth chart? No smack talk intended, but I don't see any noticeable size difference between GSU and Memphis. NCST in the other hand, had guys 330lbs both on OL & DL just clogging up the middle. I believe the smallest guy that played was 310+lbs.

here is our depth chart if interested.

NC St is 117th in rushing averaging only 99 ypg. That is against two smaller schools.

I don't think the Navy game will have much of an impact on the crowd, in past yea, but the past 5 years Tiger football has been very entertaining and very good, drawing very good crowds. Friday night is high school football night and could play a part in our total attendance along with a 6:00 start (late arriving crowd). Hopefully the students will show up as at the Mercer game (one of the best student sections in a long time). All in all, there should be a decent crowd, I'm guessing 35,000+. As a side note, college football should never be played on a Friday night, this should be reserved for high school football only, but due to ESPN that has changed.
So , play this game on Saturday when BAMA is being featured just down the road 01-wingedeagle #Don’tThinkSo 05-nono

The only thing crazy is thinking the Bama/ole miss game will have more of an impact on our crowd than it being on a Friday, HS football, coming off of a loss.

I think there will be a much better crowd than many of the people I know think there will be.
