Anyone care to shed any light on the situation? Announcers said he has left the team and he didn't play a snap last night. Seems really bizarre.
Makes that insurance policy article really awkward.
AND certain people saying he was going to be the starter.....LOL
Could be that bringing him in caused more disruption than necessary.

Whatever the case, thanks to him for considering UAB for a spell. Hope whatever he wishes to do in the future work out for him.
I figured he wanted to start and since he's not...
Not sure how he would have gotten the idea that he would be the automatic starter when our returning starter was back.
It also shows AJ and Tyler adapted much faster to Vincent's system than anyone expected
With that said, aren't we supposed to have all of our TE's back?

Outside of Vincent's shifting of them for blocking I wonder if we kept it generic on our plans to utilize them.

I don't think the idea was that far fetched.

But it seems AJ stepped up since Dallas was pushing for his job, and apparently, it made AJ even better. I hate that Dallas left since he was apparently a good player, and this effectively ends his FBS college career.
Tyler Johnston looked better in every scrimmage, and I was saying that before this "Davis has quit" rumor has grown legs.
I'm a bit surprised as I was thinking he was #2 & insurance policy while Tyler continued to heal his shoulder since we have him for a couple more yrs.
Sorry, He chose to leave the team, Sure he would of been a proven back up, Which apparently he did knot want to be, With that being said, His OC came from, well you know who (USA). So, sure its hard for his OC, But Coach, chose to bring him back (the OC. which he came from UAB - sence he went their.) So, since he chose to leave. Hope AJ. does not go down, But if he does, Tyler can run the same offensive, and Oh yea, where is that phenoem from Tn.
From what I saw of Tyler last night, Davis would have to be the second coming of Joe Montana to get on the field if A.J. went down. He may have figured that out. Tyler sure looked like the QB of an exciting future last night.

No slap at A.J. intended in saying that. He's our starter.

It looked like we kept playcalling pretty vanilla to not show our hand to future opponents. Probably need to loosen it some next weekend, but hopefully we can wait until Tulane to really open it up.
LOL I swear the article about him being an important backup just came out like two days ago

He was gone for several days prior to the article.
Did he withdraw from school or did he just leave the team? Is it too late for him to transfer again to a later enrollment school?
Article's still live on al-dot-com, without updates.

My guess is they still haven't noticed he is gone.
