Long story short but Cut the cord and looking into options to get ESPN for college FB season and especially access to the Watch ESPN app so I can see Pitt FB games, particularly on my laptop.

What options are out there for me? Thanks!
Sling TV may be your best bet. Its Sling Orange package is $25/month and includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 (which includes games on ABC) and ACC Network Extra. You can set up a password to watch through the WatchESPN app. For $5 more a month you can add ESPNU, ESPNews, and SECN. https://www.sling.com/
I would get Directv Now for four months for $40/mo and get the free Apple TV 4K. Then cancel it and get another service, as I did not really like the Directv service. I personally have Hulu TV, as I like the channel selection for sports, the Hulu login activates everything, and I like the VOD library with it, but a lot of people hate the interface. They all have plusses and minuses.

But the Watch ESPN app on the Apple TV is a beautiful picture quality and really works well. I'm not an Apple guy, the Apple TV 4K is literally the only Apple product I've ever owned, but in most ways it's the best streaming device I've owned (and I own or have owned them all). In addition to the picture quality, the Apple TV app is unique in that it allows multicast...multiple games at once in windows on your TV.
I just remembered something about Directv Now...I don't believe the $40 includes the Fox regional sports nets...that may be a deal breaker. If you've got the cash, I'd still get an Apple TV 4K for the Watch ESPN app, even if you go with a different service.
I used to have Watch ESPN on Hulu. Now, I downgraded my Spectrum cable service to the digital $30 per month plan and I no longer see the Watch ESPN app available on Hulu. I don't know if its just not available on Hulu anymore or what.

I am confused by this. What streaming device are you using?
I get WatchESPN through my ISP. Everything else with CFB via YouTubeTV.

Sling Orange has a very limited number of channels, which is why it is so much less than most of the other streaming services with sports. Aside from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, and ACC Network Extra, the only networks with sports are TBS and TNT, but the post was asking about ESPN.

Sling does have an offer to get a free Roku Express when you pay for your first two months of service.

WatchESPN is an app unless you're watching on a computer. You should be able to sign in to it using your YouTube TV credentials on any device.

Last season I watch WatchESPN on Hulu. This season I cant find Watch ESPN on Hulu. With Hulu, you can download the channels that you want to watch. The Watch ESPN option isnt available anymore on Hulu. I thought it may have been because I downgraded my cable tv option from regular cable to the Spectrum stream thats available on Hulu.
WatchESPN enables you to view the same channels as your cable/satellite/streaming subscription - no more, no less (unless you consider ESPN3 to be more - I guess?)

Sling Orange + the $5 sports add-on matches up very well with ACC sports. The only games you might not see are non-conference away games.

I doubt it has to do with your cable. I'm guessing that Hulu stopped offering it as an option. If you're using a smart TV or smart Blu Ray player to stream, there may not be a WatchESPN App available, but there certainly is for Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Low end streaming devices, like Roku Express start at around $30. Well worth the investment.

Yes, but ESPN3 access within that app is dependent upon your ISP/Cell provider paying bucks to ESPN. You need to authenticate against your TV provider to get live ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/SECN/LHN content. And possibly even replay content from those channels.

In the past all replay content went to ESPN3, so it was cheap to watch just about every game as long as you were willing to wait about 2 hours after it ended... however, I think I remember reading this Summer that replays would now be part of the ESPN+ $5/month package -- maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong?

Cuse, I have a Roku and I just tested WatchESPN - it still works just fine, but I just noticed it's no longer called WatchESPN -- now it's just ESPN. Look under "Streaming Channels", then "Sports".

All that said, Roku changed the way their technology worked around April of this year - so now some old channels (like USTVNow) no longer work.

Good call Mark. I think you may be right about that

I get Watch ESPN through YoutubeTV.

I highly recommend YouTubeTV if you are hardcore ACC and college sports fan. I'm running it through a Roku. I can also watch it on my computer. I can cast that to my TV via Chromecast.

You might also consider getting a VPN if you ever suffer a regional blackout.

I recommend reading this thread..it covers a ton of info

I did YouTubeTV last year, totally worth it. Going to fire it up again soon.
