Not to overlook them. 11 days to gameday.

A young team like this can’t afford to look past any opponent. It’s easy to think about the Sept. 8th opponent, but doing so and not taking Bucknell seriously would be a huge mistake.

Besides no 2-9 team has the right to overlook anyone. I am sure the coaches and team leaders are focused on beating Bucknell.
Beat the Buckies
Can't recall how he performed against us last year, but apparently the punter is top-notch.

Preseason patriot league coaches poll has Bucknell at 5th in the conference. They are returning some key defensive players, while there is a question mark regarding the offense again this season...sounds familiar.

Worth noting Colgate was tabbed at #1, but that's a conversation for later in September.
Bucknell was right there with us until we turned it on it the 3rd quarter. They passed well, our backs ran well, and Christian killed them on returns. I think our defense is a good bit better this year so, minimize turnovers and we should be okay.

My wish list is no injury, develop a passing rhythm, and protect the ball. Oh...and maybe Corey Parker won't get flagged twice and kicked out of the game on some BS celebration calls.
5 1/2minute interview with Mangas on the Tribe web site this morning.

QB spot remains up in the air and, according to him (who should know!) whomever steps forward during this Saturday's scrimmage gets the starting role against Bucknell.

Scrimmage is tonight. Let's hope the weather holds.
Is the scrimmage open to the public?

Certainly nice to have this kind of supplemental, volunteer alums adding their knowledge to the program.

The scrimmage wasn’t the greatest for Shon or Teddy. But personally, I believe Teddy had a better scrimmage. Owen Wright broke out for a 60 or so yard TD. Mark Williamson went down and did not return. Shon was inaccurate and threw an INT, although it was tipped by Will Kiely. The defense looked great, although allowing a big run or 2. Teddy did throw a TD on a screen pass but was called back due to penalty.
Not sure of what to expect from either team. In general we bring back more experienced players but both teams struggled to settle on a qb last year. Their defense lost their top player but have some experience back on the line. Their offensive line is the one spot where they do have a lot of returning players. Definitely need to make a statement early. They are not very big up front on defense so we should be able to run early and often which would be great for Shon. Was not the case in his starts last year.
I predict a shut out
I predict messageboarders will overstate the outcome and mass hysteria will ensue.

William & Mary 24
Bucknell 13

Solid performance by the defense. They will give the offense a short field a couple times this game, creating quick scores. Offense still figuring itself out. Line will struggle at times because of its youth. The athletes will make the plays necessary to put points on the board.

That’s not too hysterical.

Usually, the team with the most athletes wins.

Looks like the game is on the Patriot League Network. Hopefully that is free and available online.
