The bad weather today has got me thinking about something interesting to ask the board. Besides last season, what are some of the worst weather conditions that you’ve experienced while attending a Tigers football game?
I remember us playing UTK in Memphis when I was in college... Not the one we won, but a couple of years later. We were thoroughly soaked, but still had a great time (despite losing).

Been in lot's of steady rain games but the Southern Miss game in 1981 stands out. Rains of biblical proportions the entire game. Me and the girlfriend, now the wife, sat through the entire game. Just a couple of twentysomethings on a date. 37 years later, that game always floats to the top of the list when talking about sitting in stormy games.
Remember us playing USM in a constant downpour the entire game.

Been going most every game since 1976 and that was the worst I’ve ever seen from a rain perspective. We stayed 3/12 quarters. It looked like waterfalls at EACH row in the stadium. I would estimate 3-5 inches during game.
Miss St. couldn’t see the field
Amen to that.
Great thread idea! I look forward to hearing from all the seasoned long-termTiger fan responses that have been through the 'weather blender' over the decades. There has to be some great stories out there for sharing.

Last season opener Tropical Monsoon against Missouri State kinda' sucked, lol. That was a relentless, constant beating. Thankful I wore my chest-waders to that game, even though they were camoflouge. I now refer to Ponchos as "cute."

That final 2015 game against SMU in the cold, drizzling rain tapped me out by half time. The announced crowd was like 30k+, but there was actually only maybe 3k of us in actual attendance freezing our tails off, lol. I was just unprepared, showing up in a $10 Bass Pro paper-thin rain gear with no undergarments in 40 degree rainy weather.

That $10 rain suit stuck to my skin like Saran Wrap, and I (deservedly) paid the Stupid Tax, lol.
Non-rain, the game against Miss St in 2000 was the worst heat I remember.

It was over 100 at kickoff for an 11am game. Pretty good crowd that was half gone by the end of halftime. Great comeback and the worst officiating call to rob us of a win that I can remember.
Someone help me but I seem to remember a Vandy game in the late '80s where it poured all game long and I sat through it all. Like someone said above, there was water pouring down the steps.
The loss to the 1AA team UT Martin where they had to postpone the game for hours.
@ Arkansas State and a 3 hour lightning delay that ended up canceling the game if I remember correctly. I remember my wife and kids all getting the brilliant idea to head down to under the bleachers to get out of the rain, and they had absolutely NO effect. That was like... 2008? Something around there.
Sat thru many bad weather games, but the most surreal was Tulane at the Liberty Bowl, in 94 or 95. Torrential downpour most of the game. Looked like a river coming down the steps. There were less than 100 people still there in the end - Tigers won, me and the old man stayed.

Yep. This one, and the 2004 GMAC Bowl in Mobile. Rained the whole damn night.
Tennessee 2000.

Early November. Cold. Never quit raining. Tennessee won late with a field goal.
SMU 2015 was also a contender.
Ark St 1982. Poured the whole game. Tigers won 12-0 to break nation’s longest losing streak (17). Goal posts came down.
Mobile Bowl with DeAngelo & Co., poured for 3 straight quarters and last years opener is right up there at the top, crazy wind[/u]
