I've been working on my UAB collection lately. Right now my favorite UAB item is a game program from the 1982 Elite 8 game (I think that's the year).

I was thinking the next thing I'd like to track down is a Bartow autograph. Does anyone have one they're looking to move? Was he much of an autograph signer? Someone on ebay had a signed note card but it wasn't verified or anything so I was skeptical.

Anyway I'm curious to know what else is out there? Do you have a full-on UAB man-cave?

This is a good question for JBall
1. Complete media guide collection (up until they stopped printing them) from 1978 on. Most are autographed by the seniors on the cover.

2. All the bobble heads

3. Student season ticket pass from the first season

4. Reams of notes from every game played, personally researched by me.
#1 - My MA degree handed to me by Dr Joe Volker in 1972.
#2 - My 1996 plastic drink cups with our first D1 football schedule printed on them.
#3 - My UAB flag (designed by Tree Missile) awaiting a new flagpole.
#4 - A few bobble head dolls from when I had season tickets in Sec 209.
#5 - Some old game programs and media guides

I have collected a great deal of UAB memorabilia. I have the warmup that was used in the first season. I have a belt buckle from the Great Alaskan Shootout that we won. Countless jerseys from over the years. What I would love to have is the bumper sticker UAB 1 UCLA 0.
A UAB Golden Girl.
The original Blaze bobblehead.

E.J. Brophy (AD at UAH) is married to one UAB Golden Girl and has two more as sisters in laws.
my degree.
1) My degree 2) A poster of the 2010-11 Basketball schedule (my first year there) 3) The postcard-ish type schedule I got with my football season tickets last year.

Apparently I’ve gotten to the point in life where I value things that hold memories more than financial worth. Which I guess means I’m officially old.

+1. I've got a truck load of fond memories to go along with 2 degrees, most of the of bobbleheads, an autographed poster from the 04-05 team, 3 other posters, a hand written note from Watson, a flag, and 4 game DVDs.
Hat signed by Ty Long, Hunter Mullins and AJ Erdely when all 3 were sitting at the bar at Mugshots BJCC.

Green Mugshots Vestavia t-shirt signed by Ty Long when he and his then-girlfriend now-fiance were at Mugshots Vestavia.

UAB half-white autograph football signed by JJ Nelson, Joe Webb, and Timothy Alexander.

Blaze stuffed animal I got as a kid when my parents took the whole family to UAB vs. Marquette, back when Marquette was still in CUSA.

I used to have a sweet UAB Man Cave / studio back when the wife and I had a house in Vestavia. Currently efforting that in my apartment. Should me ready in time for football season.
A Reebok UAB Blazer pullover from the Watson Days, Had a Genuine UAB Football, and Still have a rain coat and a Winter Coat from all the Watson Days. From the Team Gear.

I've meet Pat Dye & Mike Deane, Pat at the Auburn Game, In the Locker Room and Mike on the Southside at a Dugans. Does that Count. Was Face to Face with Gene, in the Arena when his son coached the team and shook his hand that should Count.

Some how Terrance Gibson got out of the State of Alabama. Somewhat Related Mete, John Thompson the Father of Georgetown Basketball at Northview. Just some of my prized positions and memories.

Hmm, Nothing special.

I’ve still got a pack of cards and bobble heads from the Anderson years. A large UAB flag. A team issue football just like the Blazers used last fall. I’ve got a box full of ticket stubs from all the UAB sporting events I’ve been too, if I can remember to hang to the ticket after the ball games.
UAB Basketball - Birmingham Jersey signed by entire last Haase team and staff
Game Used Zach Woodfin jersey signed by him
UAB practice jersey(pictured on left as my avatar) that Gene gave me in 1978. I wore it out(literally) to practices from 1978 to 1996, probably the only one in existence. Also another UAB practice jersey that was issued in 1983, which is green with white lettering on one side and white with green lettering on the other, washed a thousand times and still in pristine condition. Both practice jerseys are hanging in my closet. Priceless, to say the least.
Old programs from the UAB teams of the late 70's and 80's.

A autographed basketball from the 2004 team that beat Kentucky and went to the Sweet 16.

A degree from UAB.

All the bobble heads.

A game worn football jersey
2 degrees (obviously prized).

The ball D. Hackney threw into the stands after the coin toss of his last home game (if I hadn’t caught it, pretty sure it would’ve broken my friends nose).

Official helmet autographed by Watson (more prized bc of who gave it to me, not bc of who signed it)

Blazin the Bayou painting

The most striking possession I have...pool table with the big dragon head UAB logo on the front

What’s the story behind Hack throwing a ball into the stands following the coin toss?

When it comes to memories, one that crosses my mind when I think of tailgating is that of a very pretty wisp of a girl who scarfed down a large quantity of Grammer Nazi's hottest wings and showed no ill effects at all. They didn't even make her thirsty. It was one very impressive performance.
