With Jimmye's recent announcement, it got me thinking. Jimmye's coaching tree is enormous. I mean, truly enormous. And I'm talking about 1st-degree connections only (players he coached at W&M, or coaches that he had on the coaching staff under him).

Quickly off the top of my head, to name just a few: Sean McDermott, Mike Tomlin, Dan Quinn, Bob Shoop, and many more.

I want to enlist the knowledgable W&M Tribe Athletics subject matter experts on this board 04-bow to help me create more of an exhaustive list of the most notable 1st-degree connections on Jimmye's coaching tree.

Who else can you name?

Roll Tribe.
We at the W&M Sports Blog did some additional digging (thanks for the info above!) and made an article on Laycock's coaching tree.

Naturally, it includes 3 current NFL Head Coaches, 1 NFL Offensive Coordinator, 1 NFL Special Teams Coach, multiple college Head Coaches, and several other assistant/position coaches.

Check out the list below -- LET'S GO TRIBE.

Ivan Fears, technically, is a "W&M" Coaching Tree, not part of Jimmye's tree, as he played before Jimmye came as Coach and never coached under him. (I believe he worked for Jim Root.)
I realize pointing it out now doesn't really help anyone but Corley and Shoop are both a part of Jimmye's tree.

Same for Mark Duffner at Tampa Bay. His record as HC at Holy Cross was remarkable, MD, not so much.
