Saw they're opening up the season with Michigan/Notre Dame(kind of appropriate as this is the 25th year anniversary of the Florida St/Notre Dame game which was the 1st time Gameday traveled to a game....

any predictions on any other weeks for the year? Always such fun to see that....

My pick for week 2 would be Clemson @ Texas A&M. Come see Jimbo Fisher.
They still have to pick a game for opening Thursday like last year (Ohio St/Indiana).

Would they really pick a matchup with no trophy (Northwestern/Purdue) over a rivalry with one (Civil ConFLiCT) that has the defending national champion?
TCU-Ohio State Week 3?

They would pick a power conference matchup between two programs that have played each other for decades and both went to bowl games last year over a non-power conference matchup between two conference programs with little-to-no history between each other and a fictitious rivalry with a created trophy that is probably still in someone's garbage somewhere.

BTW, Alabama won the National Championship Game last year.

Actually Alabama and UCF won. Just like in most years there are more than one national champion. Until they make the playoffs open to everyone similar to the NCAA basketball tournament, mostly you will have years with 2 or more "national champions"

UCF didn't win the national championship. They won the games on they played, they didn't play Georgia Tech because of hurricane. The championship has been decided on the field since the BCS in '98. UCF didn't make the playoff to compete against Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and Oklahoma.
Houston @ Arizona third week

There was no national champion, Alabama won the A5 title game and UCF went undefeated
You can say what you want about the Evil Empire AKA ESPN, but it sure looks like we are getting a lot more great matchups during September than we ever have before. We no longer have to wait for conference play to start.

I have to agree on Clemson@Texas A&M in week 2, but Penn State@Pitt's not bad either. Those guys need to make that an annual game again, IMO.

Penn State is afraid that Pitt will knock them out of the playoffs again, so don't expect them to agree to anything annual...

Alabama won the the College Football Playoff that was agreed to by both the P5 and G5. If UCF and the G5 don't like the rules they agreed to, you guys are free to give up the NY6 Access Bowl and go out and create your own G5 championship.

Al won the national invitational Title and UCF was the only team unbeaten. Al has titles it claims based on far less than UCF's title.

Anyone can write a Wiki entry, and anyone can claim a national title. Doesn't mean you won one. UCF didn't win any national title, Alabama, did, this is an actual NCAA web site:

https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/artic...ip-history
how about Fla bogus '96 NC listed by NCAA
FSU beat Fla last game of season, Ohio St & Ariz St locked into Rose Bowl
next up BYU, wait hu no no no hold on
here's the plan, fix the polls, rematch

UCF is still recognized as national champions by the Colley Matrix, which is an NCAA recognized poll. The NCAA also doesn't pick a national champion for FBS.

Wow, the NCAA doesn't seem to recognize the 1934 and 1941 National Championships Alabama claims they won. UCF will stop claiming a 2017 title when Alabama stops claiming 1934 and 1941 titles.
