Time for our annual August predictions thread.

if you want to participate, state what you think our regular season record will be this year. remember, we have 13 games. A range is OK. You do not have to explain how you reached the number you give, but you can explain if you want to. If you want to make predictions on other things (QB, for example) feel free, but as a addendum to the season prediction.

There is no prize for having the most accurate prediction. Just self-satisfaction.

I predict 4 wins. It could be more; it could be less. Four is the midpoint of what I think reasonably possible.

We are favored in only 2 games at this point, PVAM and UTEP. So I start with those two. Then I add two more, that I think the coaching of Coach Bloomgren can get us. I think likely those extra two wins will come in CUSA games,, so we may go into the last game needing a win to get to four. This is me being optimistic.

We lost a lot of top players from a 1-11 team. The replacements may be unknowns, and their back ups are even more unknowns. We are depending on Coach Bloomgren to mix the ingredients in his own way to produce a better pizza. I think he will, to the tune of a final 4-9 season.

More importantly, I hope all 13 games are barnburners.

JMHO. If you agree or disagree, say so.

I hope to be wrong, on the low side. I fear being too high.

I hope the four games, plus or minus, are the first step in an upward tilt in our program. But that is a subject for next years prediction thread.

In any case, always and forever, GO OWLS!!!

I think coaching will make that much of a difference. I predict 6 wins 7 losses.
5 wins +/- 1.
Four wins.
PV, UAB, UTEP, ODU
I think the coaching change-- not just the head coach, but all the coordinators and assistants-- adds 2 - 3 wins, and the new focus on special teams play adds another 1 - 2 wins.

Consequently, I'll go be an optimistic prediction of 6 wins.
3 wins.

Average attendance under 7.5K per game, not counting the free handouts to little girls cheer teams and the fake tickets that IMG buys.

Those 3 games will be close. The others will be blow outs.
2 wins according to Vegas

4 wins is what I’m expecting

6 wins I’d be extremely happy. That’s bordering on miracle considering our loss of talent.
4-9

Hope you're right, but pardon me if I don't put money on it.

I think we lose in Hawaii. I'll go with 3-10.
Our coaching staff will have to be superb in their planning and schemes and we would have to go virtually unscathed in the injury department to come up with 5-6 wins against this schedule.
But, hey...I guess it could happen. And I really hope it does.
