Standout RB Lew Nichols (5-11, 200) of Detroit Cass Tech High School committed to Central Michigan tonight after visiting campus this past weekend.

A consensus 3-star recruit and rated among the top running backs in the Midwest, Nichols chose the Chippewas over 14 other FBS offers, including Purdue, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Minnesota, UCLA, Missouri, Syracuse and Cincinnati, among others.

Nichols becomes the second running back and 16th overall verbal commitment in the Chippewas 2019 recruiting class.

Dominic Moore is a priority and likely a Chippewa depending on what Illinois does.
