If we do get some more players, and could get them where we need them, where should it be?

1 - Nowell and Lottie, and throw in Pippins and Burns who have played there. Good shape. Possibly excellent shape.

2 - Burns and Pippins, probably throw in Tucker if needed.

3 - Tucker and Hadzic. Maybe Koljanin? Might use help here.

4 - Bankston and Hadzic. Maybe the freshmen. Maybe Koljanin if he shows up. We're OK, but it wouldn't hurt to have another body.

5 - Nothing.

Pretty easy to answer this one. The farther we move toward the basket, the more we need help.

I feel like Darrell will run an offense where the lack of size won’t be an issue. However, on defense I agree with you Pappy, if the other team has a good true Big man we are in trouble. Hadzic is not a Bruiser and he’s by far our thickest player. Either way I am going to go into the season with expectations to be good and will hope for the best.
You are right: with the 3-point game these days, height is almost irrelevant on offense. But other guys can kill you when you are on defense if you don't have a couple of big men.

I consider Bankston a "big man". I am cautiously optimistic about this team. We are going to be quick and athletic. We'll be fun to watch. Not sure how that translates into wins or losses, but we'll be competitive in the league. Supposedly Burns and Tucker were the 2 best players on last year's roster. If that's really accurate, we'll be okay.

i remain uncautiously pessimistic
Actually, Wyatt and Johnson are both listed by Verbal Commits as SFs. So if we started Johnson at the 3, and had Bankston and Hadzic at the other two up-front positions, we could go 6-8, 6-8, 6-8 across the front line, which is pretty good for the SBC. However, depth, and especially depth with experience, is a big problem. If Koljanin makes it to campus, that will help a bunch.
As things stand now, even one injury in the wrong place could turn this season into a full-fledged disaster.
