Will our beloved Coach Candle be moving on ?
I hope not. This is his 3rd year. Same amount of time Campbell was here.
Yes, he will be moving on.

I'm fine with it. The purpose of a University is to develop young people and move them on to a higher representation of the University.

We will interview and hire internally making it almost an impossibility that any minority will be seriously considered for the position, unless MU happened to crank one out recently.

Now that that is settled, we can move on to 2019.
I am hoping that we could keep candle for at least 10 years like Pinkel. His wife works for the UT foundation too. Maybe $1m a year, raising his family and building the next Boise State type brand would entice him to not jump at the first Iowa State or Minnesota type P5 opportunity. Also, Toledo is a great place to raise a family, and a million/year salary goes a long way in our market. May be the optimist in me, but I say he stays and builds the mount union version G5 program!!! Go Rockets!!!

Like the way you think.
I took me awhile on the MU, but, then it dawned on me.
MOUNT UNION. Well played.
If Candle leaves, I say bring back Eli Rasheed or Brian Gasser.
As much as I love Harbaugh at Michigan, he's not getting the job done.
Campbell to Michigan, Candle to Iowa State...

The Mizzou job maybe open.

A jump from the MAC to SEC would be epic. Pinkel went to Mizzou when they were a bad program in the Big 12. Unless Campbell wins big at ISU I think he will stay for a few more years and head back to OHIO when the snake oil salesman in Columbus gets arrested.

Kansas and West Virginia may also be open.
Snake oil salesman.. Nice..
WVU, OREGON, TT, UTAH, ARIZONA, ASU, IOWA. Those are the region OR the offense which would entice him to leave. Illinois or some Kansas is too low for Candle. USF or Memphis are possibilities as well.

USF and Memphis are really lateral moves. PAC12 schools recruit from areas where
Candle doesn't have a strong base. Mizzou or West Virginia would be a good match
where Candle would have a realistic chance to succeed. Otherwise he could a stay at UT couple of years and ride a big P5 upset into a better opportunity.
Didn't Kansas just hire another new coach? Or was it a new AD?
I’m predicting Alex GOlesh or Louis Ayeni for 2 years as likely Candle replacements
I do not believe Coach Candle will move on for a few years. I smell dynasty.
1+ on Babes take. Just have a gut feeling that Coach Candle is setting some roots...the $1M sure helped. He has all the tools and just sense the MU model is what he has in mind. But then $2.5M looms big if it works out here...we will see. Win baby win in 2018 first.
Tom Manning from Iowa St will get called if Candle leaves
He's certainly climbing the ranks. I'd say he'll be gone within 2 years. I would really like it to be at least two years, to at least seal the deal with some of the d-line verbals.

Possible, but I hope the AD knows where he is....NFL I think. I could be wrong.

Tight end coach for the Colts.
Hi Rocketfanatic: my personal choice is also Tom Manning. MY choices/wishs are not the same as my predictions. However- if Matt Campbell moves on then I expect Manning to get the gig at ISU. He was the OC & Assoc. HC at ISU before jumping to the Colts in May. I think he’s just building his resume. I think UT can only get Manning if UT’s job opens well before Campbell leaves ISU

Go Rockets!!!
