Northern Kentucky women played in the WNIT during their transition, while they were in the ASun. And we were told we could play in the NIT if qualified and invited. I think you just cant participate for a National Championship.

And that being said, why does the NCAA basically penalize a school for moving up, but not moving down?

Case in point, Winston Salem moved down to D2 and played for a national championship in football with a ton of D1 players... who has the advantage?
Conference postseason eligibility is up to the conference for transitioning programs. The ASUN welcomed us with open arms for conference tournament appearances from the start (our women's soccer team made it to the finals vs. Lipscomb). The Big South, however, did not offer the same situation in football (haha). Sadly, we won't be eligible for anything in football until the transition is over.

And, yes, our teams are eligible for NIT bids as Abilene Christian's women were invited and played in the WNIT during their second and third seasons of transition (2015 & 2016). I'm also noticing that softball has an NIT now.
I’m just wondering where y’all are getting that you could go to the NIT from? It’s clearly labeled that no transitioning teams to NCAA sponsored postseason tournaments.
Ah, here it is: WNIT is not NCAA sponsored
So I stand by my statement you can’t go to the NIT because it is sponsored but you could the WNIT because it isn’t sponsored.
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, our men's team has a long way to go before those thoughts. That said, kinda glad the WNIT isn't run by the NCAA. lol

Y’all might end up in the WNIT before the transition is over. Y’all have a strong wbb program.

I was just figuring that the WNIT and NIT was the same deal. Dont really matter for the men anyway, they have a long way to go. But I like how they are going.
-That was a close one between Lipscomb and NJIT.
-Has Lipscomb already peaked?
-Makes me a bit nervous about Liberty playing NJIT in NJ.
-Liberty will be the #2 seed. That may be a good thing.
When NJIT is shooting well, they are a very good team. When they are not, Flames win in a blowout. I guess that seems obvious but they seem (in my limited time watching them) to have some on/off nights in the shooting department.
From Feb. 21st: Kennesaw's coach Al Skinner is stepping down after the season.

I think that's totally possible.

UNA will get better every year during the transition, mostly freshmen this year.

KSU will be a wild card, depends on who they hire.

Jacksonville and Stetson can be good, hopefully with stability in the ASun they can focus on upgrades to their facilities and recruiting.

FGCU, with a new coach and pretty much a young team, took a while to be the FGCU everyone expects, but they turned around. Should be good next year.

UNF will be good as well.

All in all, I see the ASun as a whole trending up for the future. Stability will prove to be the key in the success of the conference. A few years of Everyone getting used to Liberty and UNA in the ASun and Liberty and UNA getting used to the ASun will be huge.

Ouch. Less than 10 wins a year.

They should hire the guy at Valdosta St

Stetson is reportedly hiring Dayton assistant Donnie Jones as their next head coach. He has previously been a head coach at Marshall and UCF.
