Really had a gut feeling Garrett Wolfe would pull off the unthinkable to kick off 2006. Didn’t he have like 285 yards that game?

I vividly recall reading the Sun-Time prediction and it reaffirming my delusion:
Northern Illinois 24
#1 Ohio State 23

I recall telling a bartender in Columbus the night before to be ready for us to shock the world and beat #1 ranked OSU. Then I recall us being down 28-0 after the first quarter. Oops. Regardless lots of OSU fans complimented "that little running back" after the game.
It’s a little thing but pretty cool .. to come from a time when people think you’re fcs to an ex nflee who played at osu remembering the guy from niu who tore them up

Just looked back at some of Wolfe’s highlights....talk about a guy with incredible change of direction. He had that ability to take it to the house on just about any play.

He was amazing. It’s unfortunate the Bears never figured out how to use his strengths. They told him to bulk up(which hurt his speed), and ran sideways plays on Third down03-banghead Oh well. All time great Huskie though. He was as legendary as Michael Turner.
