Had a buddy that stalks all the Auburn boards tell me an AU insider was sharing some gossip about Andy Kennedy yesterday. I haven't had time to look into it, but thought it was worth passing along regardless. Apparently AK recently bought a house in Birmingham and has a daughter starting at Auburn this fall. He's planning on sitting this year out and then next year wants to either be on Bruce's staff at Auburn or be the Head Coach at UAB.

I'm never going to root against Ehsan or UAB (although the yearly game against Auburn makes it tough), but I'd be lying if the idea of having Kennedy as the Head Coach didn't get me going. He coaches such a fun brand of basketball.
If he want's to be on Pearl's staff (if true) that worries me of him ever being a HC at UAB. Just being honest.
He needs to sit out 2 years. Rob will get 2 more years and once we haven’t won anything by then it will be time to make a change.

However, if Mark Ingram is still here, there is no way he will hire a Gene Bartow man to lead the program.

How so? The Chuck Person thing & Bruce going to taint him too much?
Kennedy had no problem being on Bob Huggins staff, he won’t have a problem being on Parl's staff

LOL. He's been in the SEC for 12+ years now. He's not the new gal in the whore house anymore. 03-lmfao. 03-lmfao
From our experience so far w/ MI, what makes anyone think he may hire AK if an opening occurred, being that he was a blazer?

If Ingram is out to destroy Blazer athletes is as bad as some thinks, and if Ehsan is as bad as some think, then why does anyone think a coaching change would be made.
What makes anyone think that Kennedy could do any better than Ehsan in this environment?

Andy Kennedy might not be the first choice for UAB's HC but he is head and shoulders above Ehsan...he was raised in Louisville, MS/HS All American who played at NC State and UAB (he knows the area)...13 years as head coach at Cincinnati and Ole Miss (SEC)...their resumes aren't even in the same galaxy...we could do MUCH worse than Andy
If we tried to hire AK,, there might be an "international altercation".

What does this environment mean? Ehsan has proved UAB can recruit at the top of CUSA in this “environment” he needs to prove he can coach.
1 bid league in a crappy conference, etc.

For the reasons you named, when he decides to coach, he will go to a much bigger program than UAB and make a lot more money than UAB can or will pay.
First off, Ehsan is our coach. I think he has two years unless this season is a complete belly flop. I would hope that UAB fans are not ill wishing the guy to the extent of hoping that happens.

If AK truly wants to coach at UAB it can probably be worked out. It's not like he's worried about paying the bills. If the UAB HC position comes open while Andy is available I feel certain that we can offer him the sort of money we were paying Haase. There are big boosters in the Frozen 100 who would chip in for that, I strongly suspect. He'd also sell season tickets.

That sort of decision is up to Andy. There will likely be bigger offers coming his way. He can choose to make himself available to coach UAB, or he can take an offer elsewhere which offers more money or prestige. I'd understand either way.
