I admit I’m surprised. He strikes me as the sort who’d say mother-may-I before every each and every move.

The last line in that editorial “Like father, like son?” deserves some elaboration.

His father Pierre Trudeau isn’t — at least I think he isn’t — well-known to Americans anymore but he was THE dominant political figure in Canada for about 16 years. And before, during, and after that time he was a true exemplar of the Playboy Philosophy come to life. Even more than JFK if the legends are to be believed.

Such a shame. His wife seems so nice. Just a shame.

So if she wasn't for a national paper what would he do ? Honestly, I'd rather not know.
