Imagine being up 1 game to none and leading 3-2 with 2 outs in 9th and you let a pop up behind 1st base drop between 3 players. Catch the pop up and you're national champions. Only to let the ball drop, lose that game and then get shut out in final game.

Normally, I am pleased seeing the Hogs falter, but the circumstances of their latest falure brings me pity instead.

The Tiger baseball team finished 20-36, last in their conference and haven't been to the CWS is decades. They won 3 games in a row ONE time all year and went on multiple 3 and 4 game losing streaks.

The Hogs were 1 out away from wining the CWS for the 2nd time and 3 kids misplayed a foul ball after 1 of them made a highlight catch earlier.

What team and fans had the last laugh?

Some are always gonna dwell on the negatives. Very sad.

I was thinking the same thing. Still get that kick in the gut feeling every time I think about it. As I left the arena (stadium) I was totally numb, not believing what just happened. With about 2 minutes left in the game, Kansas fans were leaving the arena congratulating me and other Tiger fans for winning our first NC. 2 minutes later, disbelief and heart break.

When we missed four free throws and lost the national title game, believe me, Arkansas fans were not saying gee willikers guys I mean they were better than we were so we have zero business taking shots at them.

They had a great team this year. Given. AND in their moment of truth they fumbled. It is worth a jab.

You do realize fans of say, the Memphis Grizzlies, poke LeBron James for losing six time since IN THE FINALS. Rarely recognizing that means those were six conference titles, which, alone, is six more than Memphis has won...not even counting his three wins?

Very hard for me to make fun of a team that is more successful than the local team. Our baseball program is an embarrassment and needs to be blown up and rebuilt. The SEC had 3 or 4 teams in the CWS and the Tigers think hiring Motte is gonna make us turn the corner. The Hogs had an excellent tournament and basically 1 play decided their fate. These are kids that played 8 2/3 innings of great baseball and I respect what they did.

Unlike you with EVERY post on EVERY forum, I don't dwell on the negatives in life. Bitter and hate filled is no way to go thru life. Look back at your posts and find 1 positive post or comment. They are few and far between. Very sad. I am sure by the time I get back from the Chicagoland race you will be slamming someone about something while in the comfort of your recliner. It is very hard to take the opinions of someone that never attends an event very serious. Attend an event of any type some day and people just might care what you say. Until then, nobody cares.

Just for a suggestion... that last line would've made the post perfectly acceptable. No real need to trash the Tigers.

Or you could've mentioned that it took the best single pitching performance in CWS history to beat Arkansas. That would've been completely true as well.

I didn't trash the Tigers, I just posted their record for comparison. I did trash them later, just like many on here did as the season progressed. The Tiger baseball program is in bad shape. I don't think anyone should be satisfied with recent results or the direction of the program.

Not hardly. Just a fan of any good performance and any good run. Was actually pulling for Miss. State because what they overcame this year and where they went.

Oregon State had a great year as well. Still trying to decide where I stand on their pitcher Heimlich. Something happened but I don't have the facts and it sounds like he got some poor legal advice and it has put his career in jeopardy. If he is guilty, he deserves to be punished. Just don't need a repeat of the Duke Lacrosse case either.
