Wait no! You have to give it to the coaches. Don't you read the threads? Or put a new pop machine in the athletic facilities, for recruitment purposes!
Found a couple articles. From 4 years ago, OSU made over 7 million per home game. 1.8 would be a significant chunk though I presume OSU's revenues have gone up since then.
Teams, let alone mid-majors visiting top P5 last Sept. 9. Fresno St got 1.4 from Ala. Cinci got 1.2 from Mich. Last year, Nebraska handed Ark St 1.6, at the time, a record. Even for four years away, 1.8 impresses as generous. Is there a guarantee?

I would assume their is a contract drawn up with the terms in it. The only thing that is uncertain is whether the source for the numbers is reliable or if it contains certain incentives such as the number of penalties allowed to be called on the visiting team....
Once again, OSU is screwing Toledo over by offering that much money. We will expect it from every one of our OOC games from now on. BG is smart by not scheduling OSU and having to put up with those partisan fans down in Columbus.

We also got a home/away basketball series with them in 2019/20 and they bought that out for an additional $1.2M.
$1.8M is a VERY good sum of money for UT, although MOB always has a way of making out quite well in all scheduling arrangements, including the amount of times he has pulled some pretty great home games.

The BG not on OSU's schedule thingy has more to do with Big10+2 not scheduling FCS teams.

$ 100,000 for roughly 18 flags to be thrown on the Rockets = $1.8 million....
Sounds about right !!

Don’t worry. I got the gang visiting the refs hotel rooms the night before for some “additional training.”

That's right, they loosened the FCS scheduling last July.

I wasn't being serious. Just some mild sarcasm after reading some posts that seemed to be complaining about OSU never coming to the Glass Bowl for a game...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, don't we have to share the money with teams in our conference? Does that only apply to league games?
Either way, I hope we go down south, kick their tails and take their money. WHEN we win, give the money to Candle and his staff.
GO ROCKETS !!!

I do not think payments for in season out of conference games are shared with the conference

Does anyone know how much the payouts are for Michigan State and Notre Dame games?
06-18-2018, 11:47 AM
Not sure about MSU or Notre Dame, but, I would think the money would be comparable. Wouldn't it be great to take Notre Dame's money after beating them? Notre Dame probably has deeper pockets than most BIG 10 Teams. Don't care one way or the other about MSU.

Would guess that neither ND or MSU would pay nearly what OSU does. OSU makes the second most in the nation behind Texas. ND is almost $40M behind. Hell, MSU is behind Louisville.

Schedule Louisville!!
For some reason, I would really like to see Nebraska on the schedule.
And Iowa. Just to partake in their new tradition, has to be a life memory. It sort of strikes me as a cheap PERSONAL desire, like bandwagoning but for the school and the UT students, I think it would be an important learning experience, a life connecting one.
And I'd like to schedule Wisc for the beer scene and stomp around.
