The CCG was there for the taking last year, but we shot ourselves in the foot with dumb penalties. I'm hoping to see improvement in that area as well.
We've been very penalized since West's time (not saying he was particularly good in that department), no matter how poor or great our record is.

Three very different HCs, and three highly penalized teams.

1 was because he never really had control of the team.
1 was because he was trying to change the character of the team (yes, targeting penalties were praised rather than discouraged)
1 should show a lot of improvement this season.
Can’t wait!

From the above twitter page:

Mike Norvell with some lofty praise for the quarterback competition/room:

“I feel better about our quarterback room than any point that I’ve been here. (Because of depth) I feel like it can be a really special room.”

Norvell says it wasn’t a challenge to turn down other FBS heading coaching offers because Memphis is where he wanted to be.

Some more highlights from Mike Norvell at the Rotary Club.

-Feels like it can be a special year for the football team . Believes the team has the players to do something special next year

-Believes the fans can break the record for ticket sales this year

Uh oh, I seem to remember hearing this once before.

I'm just trying to enjoy Coach Norvell while I can. He's doing a great job!
