Neutral site game.
That's a solid match up.
So, basketball then?
All this neutral site crap has ruined the experience for fans back home. Get sisters of the poor at home and you gotta pay travel, lodging, eating out etc. plus ticket price for these cowardly neutral site games. Nobody wants to play true out of conference road games anymore.

Typically it's done for tv and/or for NCAA seeding purposes. The committee loves the neutral site games - so we're told.
It is a good game for NCAA Tourney purposes a a nice road trip for fans.

Plus, this is apparently one of those little tournaments or whatever. It said "other teams in this event".
Makes it hard on the marketing department, though.

I agree.
Wish we could find a way to do a Home and Home in football with Texas Tech. If we want to recruit in Texas....this could be a good match up. Houston and SMU are nice but....the Big 12 in Texas has a very different fan base. Plus Coach Dockery was coach there before coming to Memphis and then there is the Tubby connection. Come to think of it...forget that idea. The AD at Tech may still hold a grude against us for hiring Tubby. But, in retrospec ....Tech still did really well without Tubby.

Actually, as it plays out in the Tubby to Memphis from Texas Tech...."Oh we REALLY wanna keep Ole Tubbs" He was on his way out! We Got Hosed! They pulled a slick "Please DON'T take em" While they're snickering and giggling their hineys off 03-banghead
Texas Tech AD was literally fighting back tears when he gave the farewell to the Tub press conference. That lasted until about 2 seconds after he hired the new coach and realized what a bum and conman the Tub really was.
