Admiral Moderator I apologize in advance if you want this in OT but its in our neck of the woods and relevant to the local sports scene.
Long story short, the player Alex Postma had mental health issues that baseball helped in overcome. However following the letter of the law, he didn't meet eligibility b/c of the mental health issues effecting his academic performance the previous semester
The player played all season as a pinch runner but one and the day after the last game, the school decided to forfeit all games he was in (all but the final one) and report a self violation. The NCHSAA refused to grant him a retroactive waiver. The player then had his mental health issues spiral due to assuming all the blame for letting his team down and is now struggling to graduate.
Someone at the NCHSAA is trying to get work at the NCAA. A very sad story.
