Are you a hockey fan?

No.

But the Riverkings are the longest running pro team in the Memphis area.
Those early to mid 90's years at the Coliseum were pretty special. I took my sons to many of their games just like my dad took me to many Wings/South Stars games in the 60's. Great memories. Their first coach was one of the Hanson brothers from the movie Slap Shot.
Once upon a time I was a shift manager at the Mid South Coliseum making pan pizzas to sell in the concessions. It was kinda fun till everyone but me quit...we were making 10,000 of those puppies for Riverking games. Drafted my roommate into helping me...so that was fun fun fun.

I loved getting the free Krystal coupons when the Riverkings pitched a shutout. At the end of the season I grabbed about 1000 of those.

That reminds me, if memory serves me right, of rooting for the WFL Grizzlies to score at least 30 points for a free 1/4 lb @ McDonald's......good times
Only went to a couple games, won both, but crowds were not impressive.

Depends on what you classify as pro sports. Another pro sport has been around and operating since June 10th 1950.

"Pro team" not sport.

I think the specific classification was to a pro "team."
Since I lived by the coliseum back then, I went to a bunch of the games. Still have no idea how hockey works though.
