Carol Mann passed away on Saturday. She was a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. She served on the Rice Women's Athletic Advisory Board as well as hosting golf tournaments for Rice.

Several times I had great conversations with her in Los Angeles both about Rice Athletics and her professional golf tour stories. She was a great lady to look up to especially since she was only seven inches taller than me.

So what, then, maybe was she, oh, around five foot nine?

Had dinner with her a couple of times at golf events. Very nice lady.
