Strange bedfellows. Definitely not a Jones fan, but unlike some on the left, Jones is straight up about Obama doing nothing.

Quote:President Trump’s endorsement of a bi-partisan prison reform plan has made an unlikely, albeit temporary, ally in CNN’s Van Jones.

Jones, a frequent Trump critic, reportedly visited President Trump and Jared Kushner at the White House on Friday to discuss the proposed bill, which would, among other things, improve prison conditions as well as the reentry process for prisoners getting released.

During an interview on CNN Monday morning, Jones called the experience of meeting and even getting teased by the president “surreal” after disagreeing with him on 99 percent of issues. And yet, on this issue, they have managed to find common ground.

“On this issue, he has been tough,” said Jones, noting that the president showed compassion for prisoners “that most liberal Democrat would have agreed with.”

To be fair, Jones has held to the notion of giving Trump a shot. He’s complimented him and derided when needed.
All the stupid SOBs had to do was give this president a chance and the 2 or 3 things he really wanted and the president would have worked with both sides.

If anyone believes President Trump cared if it was R or D willing to deal, they are crazy. Donald Trump just wants to be known as one of the best Presidents ever. A President that got things done for the country no matter the side it fell on.

The dumb*** democrats and to a point republicans also just couldn't read the man The democrat's had to go off the deep end instead of working with a man that would have reached out to them. At least those that are not so far gone. Nope the stupid SOBs dove head first into a empty swimming pool.

President Trump wanted a few things and to be honest most of America was and is not against those.....the democrats had to go with special interest and it will be looked on in history as the dumbest move in politics. This president wants black people to move up in life. He also wants poor people of all races to do the same.

The stupid ass democrat party can't understand that if you are hard on illegal immigration that tighens up the job market and when you have less workers for jobs.....

PAY GOES UP

When people feel good about theirself and take care of their families....prison numbers go down. Welfare rolls go down. Taxes increase off those higher wages and more people paying into the system.

That's how you make America great. President Trump's ego would like nothing better than to be known throughout history as the President to change this country.

The dumasses couldn't get out of the way of their hate

He has "derided" the majority of the times when it was definitely not needed. Make no mistake, he has a real issue with the facts when it comes to our President

Nope, IMO, he'll forever be the "whitelash" dude. That'll keep him in their good graces forever.

Idk, they turned on Kanye in a quick second... never underestimate the speed at which the left will stab someone in the back if it benefits them.
The Democratic Party is become the Party of sociopaths if you ask me. Kinda sad, but it is what it is.

Openly a critic of Jones - my hand is raised. However, I respect that he put aside his pride, criticisms and party leanings to work with the WH administration on a bi-partisan issue. Just think how many of the DEMS like Pelosi and Waters just absolutely hate this. Trump continues to get stuff done - you better hop on board while you can...
Jones is VERY smart. He isn't going to waste this opportunity to get something he favors. If all the Democrats were that smart, they could have gotten more of their agenda through than they would have with Hillary and a Republican Congress.
At least he went and met with the President. We used to do that with people we disagree with.

that tactic is when you learn how to create equitable solutions....

the donks have forgotten why that matters....

it's truly saddening (or maddening) watching this division unfold.....it's flat out pathetic what drives today's wastubbing-tonnage bus.....

Its on both sides and its probably because you get primarried if you try to work with the other.

Maybe it was needed. I think 25% compliments and 75% ranging from “that’s not the best decorum” to “what the f***” is fair for someone not entrenched in his camp.

Yeah, working with the other is frowned upon to say the least. Both sides have loud segments where compromise is a loss.

I do think that using Trump against the Republicans was the best move and it was unwise not to do it. He’s an easily swayed man and I believe he could have been taken away from some of his base in a matter of weeks.
I'm not ready to crown a ut Martin alum a genius or a font of wisdom. He says what sells.

Now we throw water on people we disagree with, and call them racist.

Pahtatoe, pahtatoe.

As much as I do experience schadenfreude when it happens to people like that, it should never happen.
