Cool. Course my plans of night game with a start of 6 or 7 pm, rolling into Raleigh in the early afternoon, checking into the hotel & then heading to the stadium, just went out the window. Looks like will have to get there Friday night now..
ESPNU is Great for exposure.
12PM is Terrible for the traveling fanbase.
Disadvantage for the Dukes in the Summer heat against a deeper FBS team.

Houston told me last night there is no mistaking N.C. State for East Carolina. The Dukes will be big underdogs for sure.
BDK

Was thinking the same thing. Had made plans based on a late afternoon or evening start so I guess I will have to change them also!!

Works well for me and my tailgate group , early tailgate , game, and on the beach by 6 for a long weekend. Cheers 04-cheers

I’d say 12-14 point underdog
Anyone here ever been to an NC State game as/with a visiting fan? Just curious about your experience. A friend who used to work in my office was a huge UVa fan and used to travel to most away games. She said it was the only time she's has ever feared for her life at an away game. This was at least 10 years ago.

Brother/Sister in law are FSU fans. They felt the same way. Maybe 7-10 years ago.

I have been to NC State to see W&M (twice) and Wake Forest (once) play. I never had a problem and I also never sat in a designated visitor section. I wear my team's colors, but I don't you silly things.

Like a lot of stadiums, I think it depends more on how vocal you are for your team than it does on how nice the locals are.

I agree with this....I have been to a couple of game at NCState and never had any issue nor did I see anyone have issues.

Yeah, State fans are definitely rowdier on the whole than the UNC-CH/Duke wine-and-cheese crowd, but their real juice is saved for FSU/Clemson/UNC-CH/other ACC teams that are good. Can't see any problems prior to the 4th quarter if Dukes get the lead ha.
So you mean if I come into the stadium cheering really hard for the Dukes I'm good? Just like ECU?
In my years living in Raleigh, I have found the grads of NC State and ECU to be great fans, and generally realistic about their strengths and weaknesses. The Walmart Wolfpack fans are a whole other story though. Delusional is the word that comes to mind first.

That said, I doubt too many will consider us a threat to win and will just enjoy the day w/ friendly banter. If we win, all bets are off and run for your lives.

Unless you throw streamers or say a phantom “curse” word....so, no. You’re not good.
My favorite accusation is loud somehow always equals drunk or profane. Nope, just loud.

A post office in Youngstown, OH has a “wanted” poster of you on the wall. Crime: something about coach BO. As long as you don’t go off on the Wolfpack coach like that you’re good probably

If you are coming to the OBX, make sure you stop by the new Jack Brown's. Thinking of talking to him about having JMU FB watch parties this season once he's open.
