Really tend to doubt that LR football will get the go ahead. But, if it does the decision by the hogs to play one game in Little Rock, every 2 years, may be the best of both worlds for us. Every other year, we won't have to deal with a hog game in LR at all, and the year when they play here football season is almost over. On the other hand, they won't play here without millions of dollars to upgrade War Memorial Stadium. So we likely get a significantly upgraded stadium to play in, with very little direct competition from the hogs.

Good points. But some serious dough will have to come forward for it to happen at all.

Obviously that's true. Still when they play here on Thanksgiving, they won't play here again until 730 days later. That's a long time. If we decide to start football, having one hog game in LR, every 730 days, is a small price to pay for the 10-15 million in upgrades the State will make to "our" home stadium (which the State would never do otherwise). So overall I really believe this is a positive for LR football in the long run. Having a stadium, that meets SEC standards, at no cost to us, is a big deal. However, despite all that, my opinion still is that LR football is unlikely to happen.

Just one other point. Not a scientific poll, by any means, but I just haven't sensed a big enthusiasm for LR football among the UALR fans I know. Of course, this may be skewed by the fact that most of our current fans likely became involved because they are basketball fans first.
My fan friends are quite the opposite, and are hoping for a team big time. Maybe it’s a generational thing.

I don't think one game every other year by the Hogs at WMS will have any impact on whether the money folks will support or not support Little Rock football. One game in two years isn't nearly enough to add to the "quality of life" stuff that corporate people talk about. That one game is certainly good for the City, but doesn't fulfill that criteria.
The study will reveal that there is appropriate state and community support and funds are in place for UA Little Rock to start a football program thanks to a new infusion of cash from the Walton's for hiring Darrell Walker. Warren Stephens is also on board and ready to contribute additional funds. The UA Little Rock athletic department will present findings to UA system board of trustees and they will summarily vote it down by a narrow margin (to make it look like there was some minute interest) citing CTE and future litigation that UA Little Rock cannot afford.
We'll see what late June / early July will bring.

Why would approval of an additional sport at Little Rock require a Board of Trustees vote? Especially if it is for the most part from private funding.
If the money is there, I don't see how they can stop it. But, who knows in this crazy State.
Little Rock deserves a D1 grade Football stadium and a local team to play there. It is a matter of funding and the future of the sport itself at this point.

That's the negative about the hogs a game there, every 2 years. I would have liked to see the bleachers gutted and the end zones removed. Put in 30K chairback seats and the stadium would be perfect for UA-LR, ASU, UAPB, UCA, and maybe a USL soccer team in the future. It would be plenty for a minor bowl game, if LR wants to try that again. Having a 55,000 seat stadium, so fans can be packed in like sardines, once every 2 years, really is ridiculous. On the other hand, if the stadium is improved to meet SEC standards, it will be better than anything we could conceivably afford to build for our football team.
