If the Grizz end up #1 in the lottery, they will offer a season ticket with a cost of $1 per game. If they end #2 in lotto, a ticket will cost $2 per game. And so on, with a cap of $5 per game.

Have the Grizz ever offered that much of a discount on season tix? Interesting timing.
I'm going to get me two, but you know there is a Grizzly forum for this as well.

Yeah, thought about it. But what I'm saying isn't solely Grizzly related.
I got mine first thing yesterday morning. In Section 230
Tigers season tickets sales are going up and Grizzlies season tickets will start going down. I absolutely believe this is a response to the current state of affairs and the anticipation that Tiger bball will begin to eat into Grizz ticket sales again.

If Tubby was still here, I might consider the Grizz deal. But I can't really justify spending money and time on both, so it's Tigers all the way for me.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to raise ticket prices if they get the first pick?
These aren't normal season tickets. They are in the upper deck. It's a promotion idea. I for one hope both teams do well next year.

The David Wingett thread, a player who is already signed w/ the Tigers, is moved off the main Tiger board. This one, about Grizzly season tickets, stays on the Tigers main board. Odd.

Good point, you think the Grizz are offering this package to compete with the increased Tiger ticket sales? I don't know about that but I guess the timing is interesting. Still a great deal I'd like to take advantage of. The Grizz could potentially pick up Ayton with the #1. Hopefully EP is our lucky charm.

Are you a mod?

Why do you think its your job to run around pointing out posts that are in the 'wrong' area.

Give it a rest.

There are a certain # of tickets sold each game for $5, these are basicly give aways. I assume these tickets are coming from that group

^^^^THIS^^^^---- This fixed/fake/rasslin stuff. Years ago our TIGER site caved and gave them a forum on this site---why I don't know. If trying to lose games (tanking) don't prove that the NBA is fixed/fake just like rasslin---what does it take. Tim Donaghy proved it.
I think it is a smart move by the Griz. Last season may have dampen enthusiasm and the promotion may help stem potential lost ticket sales.
Just like the Tigers had been for the last 3 or 4 years the Grizz are in dicey territory. With a healthy Conley, Gasol and even Zbo they were just making the playoffs and mostly losing in first round. Even with a high pick, if Gasol or Conley are off in any way they could miss playoffs again and the town will start cooling off to them.

I for one love when they are both good, Hoop City is more fun!!!

Mostly? Technically correct but 3 out of 7 years the Grizzliez made the second round at least.

That is my hypothesis. I know they offer single game discounts. And admittedly I haven't kept up with their pricing much. But I don't recall such a large discount on season tix before now. Why the change? The tank year - maybe.

But undeniably, Tiger tix sales have increased dramatically. It is to the point of cutting into the casual fan's discretionary budget. And if you don't think the Grizz compete for that in this market, your head is in the sand.

No coincidence this is happening as the Tigers trajectory is steeply upwards. And that - to all you uptight about which forum this goes in - is why this belonged right where it was.
