Mohamed Thiam just posted on this Instagram he is officially an NMSU Aggie! #6 ranked Juco player in the nation. Dude has game. Watched the video. Seems legit. Looks like NMSU just reloaded! Sorry Dan. Looks like your going to have to wait another year!
I’m glad your recruits came through for y’all. Like a wise man named Leadley once said... sometimes the second mouse gets the cheese.
Pretty cool that NMSU, GCU, Utah Valley and Bakersfield all signed Jucos that were rated in the Top 100 players in America in junior college!
Good get Aggies. Congrats.
As a fan of the WAC this is nice to see players who are sought after coming to schools in this league.
NMSU is loaded.
Excellent get! Sounds like the WAC is moving on up in terms of recruiting. Should be some exciting basketball being played next year. I guess I'll fork over the money and buy my season tickets.

Huh. Did Seattle U snag someone that he missed? Did Hundal make the Top 100 JUCO list?

Hundal was not in the Top 100. Played in the Caifornia Junior College System. It's a smaller league and they don't play nationally so no one from that league is included in the Juco National ranking of players.

Actually, that is not the case. Terrell Brown (#39 in the JC Top 100) from City College of San Francisco and Robert McCoy (#74 in the JC Top 100) from San Diego City College both played in the CCCAA. Brown is the NorCal Player of the Year and McCoy is the SoCal Player of the Year. McCoy committed to Portland State and Brown is supposed to be committed to NMSU. But there are off the court issues which might effect his availability and whether NMSU remains interested.

Pistol, I’m impressed. Who knew there were NorCal and SoCal JUCO leagues? You know your stuff...

Oops... I also left out Roderick Williams (#14 in the JC Top 100) who originally signed with UTEP (under Tim Floyd) after his freshman season at East Los Angeles College. But quickly backed out of his NLI and went back to East LA College for his sophomore season. He has since signed with Boise State. Williams was a CCCAA 1st Team All-State selection like Hundal at Seattle and McNeal at CSUB. SO, the CCCAA does produce some decent talent in their JC league; just not in the quantity as the NJCAA.

The JC Top 100 evaluates the players from all the JC leagues. Kylor Kelley (#28 in the JC Top 100) played in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC); which is a different JC league from the NJCAA and the CCCAA. Kelley signed with Oregon State.

So umkc has recruits that were teammates of higher ranked gcu and nmsu recruits. That should make those games interesting.

Wait, wait, wait. What does being teammates of a higher ranked recruit have to do with anything? I'm not following the logic.

They should be motivated. I don't believe in rankings at all outside Mcdonalds All American. After thats its a complete crapshoot. I mean wasn't Siakam, the best player I have seen in WAC by far, unranked and only recruited by nmsu.

Siakam was a late bloomer. When NMSU signed him, he was only 190-lbs and his skills were raw. By the time he set foot on the Aggie court (after a redshirt year), he was over 220-lbs and physically stronger. He was always a good athlete but he also had a very good work ethic.

Johnny McCants is on a slower track than Siakam but has has worked hard to increase his muscle from 198-lbs to 220-lbs in his redshirt year. McCants is an exceptional athlete for his size (6'7).
