Hey All,

You know the drill.

Tulane (click for 2018 preview)

Your job is simple: Vote for the teams you think Tulane will beat OR if you think Tulane will beat none of them, only vote for the "Winless" option.

TU fans, feel free to convince pollsters why or why not they should win every game on their schedule!

I'll post one poll a week until all 12 football teams are represented, in reverse order of conference finish. Each new post will link to the preceding ones, and polls will be open until the end of the 12 weeks.

For a more informed opinion, here's some reading material on their opponents:

UAB

Memphis

Cincinnati

SMU

Tulsa

USF

East Carolina

Houston

NAVY

Results!

No way Tulane will be better than 6-6. I'd say 5-7 is most likely.
Tulane will be a minor underdog in like 6-8 games. They really could anywhere between 2-10 and 10-2 this season. Only the Ohio State, Houston, and Memphis games look all that scary (USF will be a little worse than last season without the star QB).

Tulane lost a ton of heartbreakers last year. 6-6 is realistic.
Start out 5 and 3.
Lose the last four.

I hope Tulane wins every game except for Navy. I think it would be great for the AAC to have the fans pack that stadium. It would be great to have sold out games in New Orleans again. It might help our brand and next TV contract. Fritz is a winner and this could be his year.

I picked 6-6 as well with Ws against Tulsa, Wake, UAB, Nicholls, ECU, and SMU. My opinion isn't based on much for the most part, just that imo Tulane has at the very least a legitimate shot at those wins.

You had to go to overtime to beat the worst defense in the nation last year. Our D will be better with the new coordinator.

And our offense will be significantly better. We beat you on the road last year. You think we’ll play worse at home? We lost a couple pieces from last year but return way more.

There’s no way I see us losing to a team that will fire their coach mid year
Wins:
Nichols State
UAB
Tulsa
ECU

UAB will be good. If we beat UAB on the road I like our chances at Wake, Cincy, SMU
Most likely outcome is 6-6, IMHO

We beat UConn on the road last year in a close game but I don't believe that guarantees that we will beat them by more points this year because we play them at home. Teams change from year to year. I believe that we will be much better than the past two years.

You beat 2 first year coaches and the worst BYU team in 15 years...

ECU athletic department is a mess. From what I've seen Montgomery is not a coach who can overcome it. Tulane athletic department is a couple years ahead on the rebuilding program and Fritz has been building from the bottom up.

Basically I see Fritz being a better coach than Montgomery. I see our program progressing at least as much as ECU if not more from 17->18. We already beat you last year, on the road in a tight game. We play you at home this year. We play you right after you guys have a grueling stretch against Houston, UCF, Memphis. ECU could easily be 2-7 at that point- I think there will be little fight left for you guys.

For all those reasons I have to believe we are favorites to win.

But it does come between 2 road games at USF and Houston, hopefully we don't overlook you pirates!
Bump for results
I'm not pissed because of Tulane beating UH last year (well maybe a little). I'm pissed because of the crappy seats they gave us visitors where you cannot even see over the team you cheer for (and the rest of the stadium was empty).

I think tu will surprise and get 7 wins.

Wake, Nichols, UAB, SMU, Tulsa, ECU, and Cincy?

Leaves tOSU, Memphis, USF, Houston, Navy.

If we can beat Wake/UAB/Cincy, I like our chances to surprise one or two against USF/Houston/Navy

First game really will set the stage for the whole season.
