East Carolina 1 seed - Greenville
UConn 1 seed - Norwich
South Florida 2 seed - Athens
UCF 3 seed - Tallahassee
Wichita State 3 seed - Fayetteville
Baseball America Projections 4/25/18
Houston in. UCF out.
#1 ECU Greenville
#2 USF Tallahassee
#2 UConn Lubbock
#3 WSU Fayetteville
#3 Houston Los Angeles
UCF First Four Out

I'll be disappointed if we don't get 5 teams in. 6 would be better.
FWIW I might be an ECU homer but I don't think we are a lock to win the conference. We have potential to win it.

Better that than having to go to Tallahassee.

I never thought we were a lock, we are actually a lot more dominant this year than I initially thought we would be. Houston is playing well and will be tough this weekend but we take at least 2 of 3, possibly a sweep with Benton out of the starting rotation.

I am pretty worried about the UConn series. I haven't watched any of their games or really followed them but to have the record they have with 22 of their first 23 games being on the road in impressive. That is tough. Most schools would be lucky to get out of that stretch with 10 or 12 wins.

If we win the conference and take the series @ UConn to end the year we'll have a very good shot at hosting a Super if we get out of the Regional.

I say this honestly. I want ECU to get that Super Regional and make it to the CWS. One of the most decorated baseball programs that has not been there, I would think. And you have had some teams historically that could have won the whole dang thing. Lived in Winston-Salem 12 years and enjoyed following ECU baseball.

I appreciate the comments. We have a tough region to come out of. Always get paired with UVA, USCe, UNC, Tennessee. Some of the toughest opponents in the country every year but we seem to be at a different level this year than we have ever been. In the past we did it with under recruited, hard-nosed, scrappy players.

With Cliff, we finally have elite talent to go along with that classic scrappy ECU baseball work ethic. Seems to be falling into place.

Fingers crossed.
It’s hard for me to believe that Wichita St is a #3 seed in the Fayetteville region while they are 4 & 8 in the AAC. Not sure that adds up.

Definitely not. Overall, we've been pretty consistent, but aren't immune to laying a random egg here and there. I expect us to win the regular season, but won't be surprised if/when we get bounced at any point during the tournament.

WSU (#19 RPI) is the next to last team in. The bubble is soft this year with the West being so bad. Also, D1Baseball makes these projections partly based on how they think teams will finish the year.

Nice! Pfafftown has really grown and has become a pretty popular suburb.

We moved to Winston in 1990.

I grew up on Plymouth Ave, off of Country Club Rd. Actually directly across from the entrance to the Forsyth CC. Moved 20 minutes away into Davie County (Advance) just prior to high school, so I went to Davie. However, had I stayed in Forsyth County, I suspect I'd have been at Reynolds.

You'd be blown away by how much downtown Winston has changed, even since 2010. 04-cheers

Whenever I think of Winston, I think of Krispy Kreme (the original), Little Richards BBQ, Foothills Brewing, and the Dixie Classic Fair! All great memories.

It can't be at Storrs due to lack of facility standards. In 2010, we hosted in Norwich (Connecticut Tigers Minor League). We'd probably host there again or New Britain. D&D Park is a no-go due to scheduling conflicts.

Love those four things as well, and I would add Ronni's Wings to the list. Great memories; loved Winston.
