The CMU spring game is this Saturday and a number of recruits are expected to be in attendance.
With three verbal commitments already for their 2019 class, the Chippewas have momentum heading into the summer evaluation period. Three players to keep an eye on are LB Brock Horne (6-2, 210) of Romeo (Mich.) HS, QB Dequan Finn (6-2, 170) of Detroit MLK HS, and OT Jonah Erickson (6-5, 305) of Rockford (Mich.) HS.
The Chippewas were first to offer Horne in January and since then, he's added offers from Iowa St., BGSU, Buffalo, Miami and Toledo. CMU has a good relationship with the Romeo program and Horne would be a cornerstone addition to the 2019 class.
Finn is perhaps the finest dual-threat quarterback in the state this year, leading one of the top programs in the PSL where he will be a three-year starter. Expected to announce his commitment sometime in May, he also holds offers from Air Force, Arkansas St., BGSU and a host of FCS programs.
Erickson currently has no reported FBS offers but is being recruited by the Chippewas, EMU and Toledo, among others. He likes CMU and is expected to be up for the spring game and likely CMU's Big Man Camp June 20. A good day there could be his springboard to an offer.
