Amazon Post's take: No, we aren't on the ropes and didn't lead you on a fake news safari for the past 2 years (look over here at our shiny Pulitzer). You see, when President Trump undoubtedly beats our weak (sad!) coup attempt, fires deep state operatives for incompetence which we won't be able to frame/sell as a "Saturday Night Massacre", it will be because of, you guessed it, Fox News!

Garbage.

Quote:Trump might survive firing Rosenstein or even Mueller. The reason: Fox News.

For Richard Nixon, the “Saturday Night Massacre” was the beginning of the end.

The nation finally turned against the embattled president after he forced out — on Oct. 20, 1973 — the attorney general and his deputy who refused to get rid of the special prosecutor investigating him.

A week later, for the first time, a plurality of Americans favored impeachment. And 10 months later, he resigned.

But Nixon didn’t have Fox News in his corner.

President Trump does — and that might make all the difference if he were to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein or even special counsel Robert S. Mueller III.

The pro-Trump media, led by Fox, would give cover, and huge swaths of Americans would be encouraged to believe that the action was not only justified but absolutely necessary.

Organizations like the Washington Compost are why we have the Electoral College.

The main stream media is red faced vein bulgingly furious over the the fact that they can no longer skew the news to control public opinion. They now get called out on their biased misleading one sided reporting. Its a new day...and they dont like it. Well....so sad too bad. The mainstream media was given a position of public trust and they misused it. Thats what undermined the mainstream media---not FOX News. FOX News became FOX News precisely because the mainstream media created an environment for a FOX News to exist and thrive. Truth be told--I find FOX News more even handed than the mainstream media---thats how bad the mainstream media has become.
