Memphis has a 40% chance to win it.

Good find, thanks.

Reports from Spring practice indicate defensive improvement for the Tigers, although it may be due to offensive drop off. The QB competition rages still and may continue into the Fall.
Sounds right to me, lol.
UCF had their time of glory, they will now settle back into mediocrity.

Man...it gives ECU a 0.0% chance of winning the conference. Brutal.
O.o

Afraid we'll take your spot in the Big 12, lol ?
So the espn power rankings are a part of the official CFP metrics used to determine the rankings...

If you look the highest projected G5 is boise going 10 and 2 .. they aren’t in the top 30 and according to espn going 10-2 in a g5 is the same as going 6-6 or 7-5 in the P5.. like they clearly factor something in just for conference affiliation it’s like a switch flipped on to **** on our numbers.

How is this not pissing more people off ? Houston at 8-4 is apparently as good as a 4-8 P5 team? Wtf these are just projections but that seems sketchy
Now watch Temple, Tulsa, or Tulane up and win the AAC, lol...
Memphis, UCF, and Boise should all start the season ranked or damn close to it. With where we finished and have coming back alone these rankings are just bogus.

There is no way TPTB will rank UCF in the pre-season polls. They are still pissed at them for upsetting the apple cart.

No they're not.

I'll admit I know very little about Iowa State, but I know I rather slip to mediocrity than always be mediocre. If it wasn't for Texas and Oklahoma, you would turn into Southern Miss...maybe lower.

They'd be Northern Iowa....

Iowa State. The welfare program of the Big12 (at least Kansas has BB)....
Regardless of what we have coming back, I'm pretty shocked we would be considered the conference favorites without an established, battle-tested, proven QB??? Not upset with the guess, but our QB upcoming performance on the field is TBD.

Who will be the Tiger QB this year ?

Between Paxton Lynch and Riley Ferguson you guys have a nice little qb lineage starting to blossom, hopefully.

FWIW, Paxton is from my town of Deltona. Went to a small little school near my house. I'm rooting for him but for whatever reason, the Broncos haven't given him an honest shake to either win or lose the job. At this point John Elway pissed away that first round pick if he isn't at least going to let him play.

Big reason why Kirk Cousins didn't sign with Denver, IMO. He saw how that organization has handled their QB issues and wants no part of it.
The P5 bias is so incredible it's laughable. UCF returns the majority of it's undefeated team that put one on almighty Auburn and these early rankings do not even have them in the top 25. To me any journalist who does this should be called out for the amateur move that it is.

My Tigers have a QB job open and still need to prove it can play better D so I am ok with us not being ranked, but not having UCF is just stupid. 03-banghead

True, I do wish the Broncos would allow a first round pick to either sink or swim with a few games strung together, but I guess Paxton isn't showing enough confidence in practice to warrant it.

Gee, that's an excellent question. Even true Tiger football fanatics don't know the answer as to who will be our starter. David Moore? Mobile QB who I believe is a either a redshirt Fr or So, but hasn't had any significant playing time? Brady Davis? Redshirt Jr I think who had promise, but suffered torn ACL and missed all last year. Brady White? The transfer who was a stud HS recruit but hasn't seen significant field time because of broken bones in his foot, but supposedly has a great arm? This is why I can't believe we are picked first. We don't have THAT great of "everything else" to make up for a so-so QB (if that's the case).

Why would ESPN rankings put any AAC team in the top 25 in a renegotiation year?
