.523 made him the top ECU coach in winning percentage? Man you guys are a real outlier in North Carolina, per Wikipedia you've had 7 football coaches who did better than .523
That's about as crazy as John Thompson going 3-20 at ECU and 2-0 as a head coach in bowl games (both as interim at AState).

That was my thought. They never should have fired him for having one bad season where there were a lot of injuries.

On the one hand, there is no real history. On the other hand, we have better facilities than we did before Lebo started, and we play in a conference with real basketball brands so we could gain respect relatively quickly. Whomever builds a program here can become a local legend.
Agreement isn't finalized yet. Dooley apparently met with RI yesterday.
Very connected sources say the deal is just waiting on board approval. They meet this afternoon to finalize.

ECU is a better job than most would recognize precisely due to our historical lack of success in conjunction with being in a decent conference. Frankly, there's nowhere to go but up at this point.
