1. I'm okay with. I think 10 or less losses would be appropriate. We lose Kemrite and Farquhar with Kemrite being a big loss. It's expected to lose one or two big contributors each year so we ought to have someone prepared to step in.
2. and 3. Are easily agreeable.
4. At this point, I'll just be happy we make the tournament. Avoiding a play-in game would be nice.
5. An RPI of 150 would place us 3rd in the Big South this year. I would target 125 at a minimum.
6. Agreed but I don't think it is likely.
7. If we want 25+ wins, then we'll have to win some we shouldn't.
8. Our average attendance was 2,045 this season. No matter which way you cut it, that isn't good enough. I don't know the rest of our conference but I say we need to be tops and bump this up to 3,000 at minimum.
9. This is fine. I'd rather play more power teams and less middle teams but I do want more winnable games without getting diabetes from all the cupcakes. Basically, cut out or non-Division I schools and replace them with tough opponents. Again, unlikely.
10. In my mind, every year should be better than the last as far as recruiting goes. McKay should be hitting his stride on the court and that should be reflected in better recruits. We have three juniors on the team currently (seniors next year) that will need replaced including the two (at minimum) graduating now.

In my mind, 2018-2019 is all about making the NCAA tournament. We were inches from making it this year and came up short. It is now time to flex our muscles and take over the conference the way Gonzaga has theirs.

At least Gonzaga has Saint Mary’s and BYU. We’ve got Winthrop ?

I agree with the being like Gonzaga idea.

Did Gonzaga’s success lead to more success for other teams in the conference, or did another good conference team help with Gonzaga’s success? Which came first, rhe chicken or the egg?

Regardless, all LU can control is it’s own program. We need to be dominant.
ESPN predicts us to make the NCAA tournament next year. Here’s the projected match up...

(1) Villanova
(16) Liberty

I’ll take whatever I can get. Hey! UMBC broke new ground this year. I’m a believed!

Belieber*
We will be better next year. We are losing Kemrite, Williams & Talbert but are adding a ton of talent including a kid named Darius McGee who may be the most athletic player we've had since the Dwight Brewington/Ace McLean days. Personally I am anxious to see what Newton can do after a year under Henry Barrera's tutelage in the weightroom/training table. If Caleb is back to full strength and Scottie continues to improve ... the sky is the limit.

We now have two scholarships to offer next year base don Isaiah & Ezra transferring. We have offered a combo guard near Richmond and I am sure we are watching the grad transfer possibilities very closely.

I would go the Grad route.
Not really a big fan of graduate transfers but sometimes they pay dividends.

I think our breakdown next season will be
2 - SR
4 - JR
3 - SO
4 - FR

So picking up a couple experienced transfers for one season may just work out.
I think a perfect OOC schedule would be.....

Exh- Lynchburg College
Exh- Va. Wesleyan
1. @ Kentucky - (Power Conference)
2. @ Notre Dame - (Power Conference)
3. @ UConn - (Mid Conference)
4. vs. BYU - (Mid Conference)
5. vs. UMass - (Northeast Region)
6. @ FGCU - (Southern Region)
7. vs. Grand Canyon - (Western Region)
8. @ Long Beach St. - (California)
9. vs. Hou. Baptist - (Texas)
10. @ Charlotte - (Regional East)
11. vs. Valpo - (Midwest)
12. @ Seattle - (Northwest)
13. vs. JMU - (Local)

That’s tough going you got there lol. My realistic ooc schedule:

@ UVA
@UCONN
WKU
CCU
Radford
@Baylor
@ Houston
ECU
Georgia Tech
USC Upstate
@App State
@ ODU
UMBC

I don’t know. They seem pretty similar to me. I compared them above. You do realize Radford is a conference game right? Your’s are on the left and mine on the right. My teams make up a more national schedule. But I see the value of more rwgional games also.

Yeah I just thought about the Radford pick lol. USC Upstate is horrible. That’s one of the worst bb programs lately.
I see we are playing at Vandy next season. That’s a great game to get.

Losing Kemrite, Williams, and Talbert totals losses of 53.5 minutes per game, 16.5 points per game (out of 70.8), 6.1 rebounds per game (out of 33.5), 1.8 assists per game (out of 14.1), 33 steals (out of 218), and 9 blocks (out of 94).

I think our team is pretty young right now. I can see the logic behind either a freshman recruit or graduate transfer to replace the departing players but I'd lean towards the traditional freshman recruit as they have the most potential unless we could get someone to really put us over the top from a transfer.
Um..... how good is accepting a graduate transfer from a Div. III school gonna make our team? That’s like giving a new walk on a scholarship. Unless McKay has pulled off a miracle find, this seems like desparation because we could get no one else.

Are you serious? That kid is a baller. Plus he is 6’5. I think you’ll be surprised.
6'5" isn't great. I would label that as average for a guard. He can score which is very needed. Our defense is pretty good but our offense is stale and needs the most attention.

That’s what we are getting with him. He is a natural scorer. 6’5 isn’t the tallest guard but I would say 6’3 maybe 6’4 is average. Lonzo Ball is 6’6 and everyone raves about his length.
