Watching Ferris in the DII National Championship game. Coached by Andy Bronkema, like Oates at UB, came from the HS ranks.
So, how did MAC schools miss on Zach Hankins. 6’10” Center out of Charlexoix MI. He’s better than both Drake and Seth......by a lot.
Chipdip, you are so right! Ferris St. just won the DII National Championship in with a 2 point win over Northern St. (SD).
Watched it too. Hankins was very impressive! Great footwork, nice touch. Not sure how good he was coming out of HS but if he was more of a project, he sure put in the work to get better. He would have done well in the MAC.

He started as a freshmen and was all league as a sophomore.
Hankins backup, So. Cole Walker, was no slouch either. At 6’8” he might be a tad small for that position.
Hankins had severe foot injury in High School. D1 schools backed off. Do agree though he could have been a good MAC player

Watched the game and had the exact same thoughts.
Didn't he win D2 national player of the year, too?
Not sure how you miss any 6'10" guy.

Maybe because he was on crutches his senior HS year and unsure if he could play BB anymore?

That's an exaggeration. He had a broken foot. Didn't even miss the entire season.

He played one district game his senior year. Was hurt before July live period when would've been seen, had just started to figure things out. Was headed for Xavier next season, though my change with coaching move.

Really GREAT to see hard work pay off!
