WMU football showing some results on twitter today. Chukes bettered his combine power lift by one rep and Brown has a top 5 broad jump compared to combine LB invites.
Darius 4.39-4.42 40

Awesome!
Does this mean all 4 will get drafted?
7th round who knows. People take players late for any reason and Jarvion’s size and Darius speed should help. Ernsberger likely a UDFA. Nothing really stands out about him. He’s a Special Teams/3rd TE guy in the NFL
Darius Phillips runs 4.4 and 4.39 40...down from 4.54 at combine.

Jarvion Franklin runs 4.45 40...down from 4.63 at combine.
Those changes are shocking and make you think the NFL guys will take them in context.

You all running the 38.5 yard dash down there ?

After you get destroyed on the 5 yard line by Jarvion Franklin, he will appear faster to you in the future.

03-wink Sorry, couldn’t resist. Those are big differences though. Maybe the comfort of being at home? Or adrenaline from it being “the last chance.”
Phillips was still recovering from an ankle injuy during the combine.

Franklin, I dunno...the dude just shows up when he needs to.

Pretty cool that all 32 NFL teams were represented today. That's a lot of eyes on Chukes, Phillips, Franklin and company.

Pro day 40s are hand-timed. There were probably about ten other times for that particular run ranging from 4.39 to 4.59. Just depends which scout the reporter wants to quote for "his" 40 time.

Also, the surface they run on can make a good difference. That can account for some improvement. But mostly pro day times are intended just for the scout who clocks it so that scout can compare that time versus other times he clocks at other pro days. To the general public those times are sort of just cherry picked.

Agreed this is the most notable takeaway. The more eyes on them the better the odds of somebody snatching them up on a late round flyer, or at the very least signing a free agent deal afterwards.

According to the scouts in attendance, they clocked Phillips between 3.39 and 3.42.

And Franklin apparently lost 9 pounds since the combine and has been working on his 40 time. Not unreasonable to think he'd be faster.

Franklin was down 8 pounds. He weighed in at the combine at 239 and weighed in yesterday at 231.
Good showings by JF and DP. Didn't hear how Donny E did ? Chukes only participated in two drills apparently

Phillips looks plenty fast to me. But the general rule of thumb on hand timing is to add .14 to the result to get close to the actual laser time. There are tons of "improves 40 time by .20 at pro day!" reports out there. There was a pro day report of 4.12 last year. Turned out to be a 4.38.

Thing is, 4.5 is plenty fast. Fans have fallen in love with the 4.4 and lower. It doesn't always translate. You can see Phillips on field speed. He's fast. 4.5 or whatever.

Agreed, he outran every P5 team he played. Stop watch isn't used when 11 guys chasing you for 100 yards.
