Probably a bit of a stretch here, but what are the chances Nike uses the Penny one cent logo on Memphis basketball apparel? I would love the idea. I know the team has used his shoes in the past, which have the logo, but would love to see it on Memphis basketball specific merchandise.
Good chance. There's also talk Nike will bring back a local version of Lil penny. I think one of their reps stated that.
Obviously his game made him famous, but the shoes, logo, Nike endorsement, lil Penny all made him an icon. You attach all that now to Memphis basketball and the nostalgia will extend outside of Memphis. It would be a wonderful marketing move.

After thinking about it I guess it’s not that much of a stretch. Would like to know what Penny thinks about it, but sounds like he’s on board. Would be cool to have it on the jerseys like the MJ jumpman.

Penny wants all of it. He's already stated he wants them in the shoes and the old unis.
My guess is you’ll see the swoosh on the shoulder with the Penny logo on the back or on our shorts

Nike could sell Memphis with the logo if they have the license to make merch.

If penny does go back to the old Memphis state unis, I wonder if he will put players names on the back.

I love our uniforms now, would like to see them modified slightly for Penny by putting Tigers under the numbers on front of jersey, where State use to be in Penny’s era, good mix of modern with old school touch!( can anyone do a mock up)?
I heard Penny's comments on Nike's enthusiasm over him being the first signature athlete to go into coaching. In addition to, or as an alternative to, having 1cent uniforms, I hope Penny explores becoming the logo for a Nike coaches line.

There’s absolutely NO reason to be adverse to what’s in the works for ANY of our teams that will benefit from this next NIKE apparel deal.... The exposure that encompasses this puts this University in “RARE AIR”! Recruiting would increase exponentially; student involvement; media exposure;etc! All the way to the golf; tennis; volleyball;track and baseball.... This is absolutely a game/program changer and could be the catalyst in having a coach of Norvell’s caliber to build a “Legacy” here.... We Can Be Notre Dame esque
The reason companies and schools have upended uniform consistency and fundamentalist tradition is because it appeals to the fans that matter most-- the youth. Even if they are butt ugly, kids are drawn to programs that take stylistic risks, temporarily.
