A lot of Memphis media convinced it’s a done deal...I’m not sure. I think a lot depends on what Harris does and what the consequences will be if Lomax does want to transfer. Will he really go the prep school route? If Marshall goes to Louisville, Lomax will be gone imo. Barring that, I don’t agree that it’s a “done deal” as is being reported by some media here.

There was apparently no shortage of applications. But Memphis fans apparently have to get the hometown legend out of their systems before they can move on.

It boils down to attendance is horrible, apathy has set in, recruiting has completely stopped, and nobody, not Gregg Marshall, not even anybody who would actually come to Memphis, can have the same effect on Memphis fans as Penny.

It is also clear no other coach can bring in anything like the recruits Penny likely can. Most hires end badly, so this one might, but now is the time to take that shot with Penny, b/c no other coach is going to be good enough until that itch is scratched.

As far as I can tell those are all opinion pieces. None show any interest from Gregg. Not sure your point here as I could find 200 similar articles for other jobs that he didn't take or even have interest in
