What most people don't understand is the Koch's holdings are private.
They'd have to sell factories, other holdings to match Fred and Walton private money.
Fred's wealth shown is his. Not including what belongs to FEDEX.
Same with Walton.

Imagine being able to combine the worth of FEDEX and Walmart.
EERASH.

Fred’s wealth is in FedEx stock. Just as the Koch’s, he would have to sell to raise the capital.

I do wish FedEx would get more involved with the program other than naming rights stuff tho.
They are going to spend 1 billon on expansion at the Memphis hub.

I was commenting on the ridiculous statement that Smith had more cash than the Koch brothers.

Fred has about $175 Million in cash. The Koch’s have about 1.2 Billion, each. Fred ain’t spending $1 Billion on expansion, FedEx Corp is.

I never said Fred was personally spending 1b of his own money on expansion. That would be stupid. And how do you know he has 175 mill. In cash? You have access to his personal books?

Most of their personal worth is in stock and real estate. Highly doubtful they have massive amounts of ready cash either. Unless they sell stock or have other areas of money making they most likely live off stock dividends. Walmart paid $2.00 a share in dividends in 2016 and $2.04 in 2017.

It’s not hard to find out. https://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/c...les%20Koch
Fred Smith hasn’t gotten big salaries in 45 years, but he has gotten big stock options, etc.

The question is, whenever he spent his money, how well did his investments perform that we don’t know about?

Fred Smith might have put a million in Apple stock back in 1995. Would we know about it?
Supreme Bey invested early in Netflix. Future whale? lol
