The Senate Rules Committee on Wednesday appointed the first undocumented resident to a statewide post, according to Senate President pro Tem Kevin de León's office.

Lizbeth Mateo, a 33-year-old attorney and immigrant rights activist, will serve on the California Student Opportunity and Access Program Project Grant Advisory Committee. The committee advises the California Student Aid Commission on efforts to increase college access for California students from low-income or underserved communities.

Appointing illegal immigrants to committees talking about spending public money...
At least ICE knows where her office is now. Makes the frogmarch all the more likely.
Who wants to guess what "under-served communities" is code word for?

Her primary job will be lobby for and to siphon taxpayer funds to illegals. commiefornia is reaching levels of cucking that shouldn't even be possible.
Wait - what?

Talk about hiding in plain sight? What does it tell you about the overall climate when a person who is in our country ILLEGALLY is out in the open publicly serving on a committee to guide american policy. She is a practicing attorney in the United States - an attorney who is openly breaking the immigration laws of our country? How in fuk do you become an "undocumented" practicing attorney in our country - how do you get a job if you don't have an SSN? How can you possibly be undocumented AND gainfully employed?

In a statement, Mateo said she welcomed the opportunity. “While undocumented students have become more visible in our state, they remain underrepresented in places where decisions that affect them are being made," she said."

WTF am I missing here? Why isn't ICE walking right into her very public offices and escorting her out of the country back to where she is from?

"In a statement, Mateo said she welcomed the opportunity. “While undocumented students have become more visible in our state, they remain underrepresented in places where decisions that affect them are being made," she said."

Underrepresented? Decisions that affect them? WHY DO ILLEGALS HAVE ANY RIGHTS OR SAY IN COUNTRY WHERE THEY DO NOT LEGALLY RESIDE????????? The only decision that should affect them is What time is ICE showing up to send you back home.......
Could one of our left-of-center brothers explain the logic of allowing this to happen in this country?

This
Totally unacceptable in a country that believes in the "rule of law".
Wonder how many calls ICE has received on their tip line concerning this illegal....

03-lmfao

I'd now like to know that as well.
WTF??????
How come everyone else is compelled to obey the law with the lone exception of illegals?
Why do we even have police? Why do banks complain when they get robbed? Why not just say..."it's all good, Wells Fargo?"and keep the jails empty?
Next time you get stopped for a ticket, just say you're here in the US illegally, so let me go about my business.
WTF is wrong with these liberal a**h***s?
just saw this....

how in THEE FOKKKK is this possible.....

wtf has happened to this country......

unfknbelievable.....

Yep.

...and at this point, the Federal government is talking about how bad it is, but not doing anything - and as we all know, it's more important what you do than what you say......

At this point, the lefties in Cali are daring the Federal government to come in and force compliance to laws currently on the books...... not make new laws - comply with current laws.

I can't see how a showdown isn't coming - or everyone in the country just says "eff it" - I'm doing whatever I want, stop me.

FWIW, You can get a job without a SSN. Foreign nationals can file for a Tax ID called an ITIN and they can present this in place of an SSN. This is technically what they are supposed to be doing if they are working here in the US so their employer is still required to pay taxes on them. These people will not have to pay the regular taxes, but they do have to pay FICA.

Again... that's by the letter of the law. I have a Brazillian friend who's here legally in the US and he has an ITIN.

Then how is this attorney "undocumented" if she clearly has a job in this country?

This whole thing is a cluster-fuk.

I have no freaking clue. Going through the ITIN process makes you a 'documented' person. I wonder if this is an unpaid position. I know there are local positions around me in politics that are not paid.

On the other hand, she could very well be documented and they are simply lying about it because 'virtue signaling'.

California Bar Exam Background Requirement.
Source: http://www.calbar.ca.gov/Admissions/Moral-Character

Quote:A review of whether an applicant is of good moral character is one of several parts of the process of establishing eligibility for admission to the practice of law in California.

To initiate this background check, applicants must file an online application, which can be done at any time after registering as a law student or attorney applicant. Because it can take a minimum of six months to complete, law students should begin the application process no later than the beginning of their last year of law study.

Early filing is encouraged so that the process can be completed before results from a particular examination are released.

State Bar staff review each applicant’s history. Those with serious issues are referred to the Committee of Bar Examiners for consideration. The application is a compilation of many details of your life, including:

Recommendations and references from present and former employers
Fingerprints
Criminal convictions
Drug and alcohol abuse
Debt
Violations of schools’ honor codes

It’s important to be honest on the application. The Committee of Bar Examiners considers candor to be a significant factor in determining whether an applicant has the good moral character required for admission to practice law.
