Reported on twitter that Rockets have added 2 coaches to the staff.

Kerry Dixon II, formerly WR coach at Florida

Kevin Beard, formerly WR coach at Tennessee

others probably have more info on these 2 than I do. No word about position at UT.
Seems like good additions to the staff coming from proven football programs. Should help with recruiting down south as I'm sure they both have strong ties to that area having previously worked with SEC teams.

Give the newest Rockets a follow on Twitter:

Coach Beard - https://twitter.com/Kevin_Beard9?lang=en
In what capacity have they come to coach at Toledo? Both were WR coaches at their respective prior jobs.
on line Beard is listed as "player development" at UT. Miami, FL alum and ex-wr coach with a lot of Florida connections.

Dixon's roots are in Texas but has moved around as a coach but all 6 of his D1 years have been at Florida universities, has experience as RB and WR coach. Played QB and WR in college (Baylor and Hampton).

Both of these guys are coming from imploding big name programs. So, they got bumped with the new staff turnover. Imagine both will enjoy being on a staff that is well run and a program that is positive and not as high pressure. Sure seems like the Florida recruiting connection was crucial to these hires.
Welcome aboard. Glad they are here.
GO ROCKETS !!!!!!
Wondering why Bruce is not one of our coaches. Didn’t he say he wanted to coach at Toledo? Not saying he would make a good coach but he does have NFL QB experience. He’s from Pittsburgh area. A place we like to target. Give him some time as an assistant and if and when Candle moves on Bruce quite possibly be ready. But then I might be off my rocker.
If you are off your rocker than so are most of us on this board. I don't think it's too far fetched for Bruce to be our next coach. It is sad though hoping for a banner year like 2017 only to cringe at the end knowing/assuming we will lose our coach to a P5 school. If we do lose Coach Candle at least Bruce will stay around for awhile given his ties to Toledo.
Candle may surprise us and stay around like Pinkle did. I thought most people were caught off guard when he stayed. Truthfully I think he will stay around a couple more years. Either way if Bruce does come on board he will definitely need some experienced assistants with him..
Jordan Strack reported Kerry Dixon is the new Running Backs Coach at Toledo...so he goes from a WR coach at Florida to a RB coach at UT.

I wonder what Beard is feeling like having to face his alma mater this upcoming season. Hope he's ready to bury the Hurricanes.
The pros do what the pros have to do. Personally, I can't imagine being all committed if I were competing against something or someone that has had an important role in my life. Coach's are pros.

With as much as we pass to the RB, the WR coach will fit right in.

Do we have any idea what type of receiver Seymour is. I like what Tompkins has shown us. Seymour can definitely hall a$$ but not yet sure of his hands

Maybe there just isn't an open spot for Bruce yet. No question he could coach QB's, but maybe he isn't considered experienced enough to directly coach other positions at the college level. Just a guess on my part. Seems like he would be a smart hire if they could find a slot for him, though.

Last year, 10 catches for 104 yards and a TD. Long of 20 yards. Don't know how many drops he might have had, though.

Dixon has coaching experience as a rb coach
I didn’t even think about this until just now:
Coach Beard goes from UT to UT. At least he’s at THE RIGHT UT now.
There’s a short story about Coach Beard in USA Today.
What a great hire.

GO ROCKETS!!!
