Disappointing ending to one of the best seasons in school history. It was supposed to be a 4th place transitional year and turned into something special.

There was no quit in the Dragons tonight in their 63-60 loss to Fordham. We knew that this team was playing on fumes, and there were plenty of times in the 2nd half where there were down by 4 or 5 points, and I thought that they could have called it a year...but they kept batting back every time and gave themselves a shot to tie in the final seconds. Cavanaugh was unstoppable for FU, scoring 32 points. Most of her 3 point shots were well contested and they went in. This is the kind of game where you just have turn and give the other girls credit. Fordham celebrated at the end like they just won a national championship, so I guess Drexel should take that as a compliment, as it was a hard fought win for them.
Congrats on a fantastic year

And Fordham gets crushed last night by 31 to VT.
Cavanaugh, who crushed us for 32 points, only scored 11 points against VT. Impossible to "what-if" it but if Cavanaugh doesn't have the best shooting night of her season against us, I'd like our chances at pulling that game off.
JMU's season ended last night with a loss to West Virginia putting an end to CAA Basketball for 2017-18.

I've been quietly following UC Davis Women's Basketball as their head coach is a family friend of ours. Their team, who is the west coast version of Drexel in so many ways, upset Kansas State on the road last night, and is heading to the Elite 8 to face Indiana. So my interest in the WNIT is still going.
UC Davis got beat pretty bad by IU. Final four is TCU against Indiana and Virginia Tech vs West Virginia. WVU already beat VT earlier this year in the tournament with us
Virginia Tech beat WVU and will play Indiana for the WNIT title.
Indiana beat our old friend Kenny and VT to win this year's WNIT.
Big weekend for the state of Indiana with the IU winning the WNIT and ND winning the womens NCAA tournament.
