"talks with another league about starting something."

Football, please let it be The PAC... for Basketball I have no clue who it could be... But 100% total failure if is with one of the G4's 03-puke

IDK... do we really want that kind of travel? How about the BigX.
Wasn't he talking about a consortium, sharing officials and centralized replay with a conference he didn't want to name?

Yup. And he wants to start that with a Power league because they have better resources.

I think you already know the answear to that ^^^

The B12 would be nice for football and basketball... It would gives us all here in Houston a chance to remind them BONGhorns who the real football kings are... Hehe

Really hope I am wrong here... But a G4 could be that mysterious league just so they can land and agreement with the AAC.

Yes
Defended the AAC very well when asked about that idiot from NIU's comments.

Wasn't the SEC trying out centralized replay this year?

Even though they seem like the least likely conference to work with us their footprint and ours do overlap to a significant extent so pooling resources makes some sense.

SEC refs will love going to Uconn and Temple

North Philly will toughen them up a little.

Heh. If it were Sixers or Eagles, yeah...
Sounds like move to Dallas for HQ is going to happen, airport connections, other conferences there as well, central to half AAC (and any Western additions if needed perhaps), etc.

I think the Big12 wants to avoid the AAC after the media fiasco and their crap talk with their ADs and The Texas Tech doofus who said UCF wasn't a good team. Either way hook the Big12 I rather do something with the SEC or PAC12.

But, I wonder what the need for working with another league on officiating brings. Does anybody know?
Note that the interviewer's question started with the Annapolis Capital Navy football beat writer's tweet about Terry McAuliffe. I don't have any specific insight personally...but ACC
Side Note: As I heard the podcast I remember reading an article about some kind of mutual agreement with another league. After some digging I noticed a comment he made a few years back about the current climate and what he hopes to have done. (Mind you the AAC has grown leaps and bounds sine the article came out)

In reference to bowl game tie ins.

"“That's a big issue for us, and it's a big challenge,” Aresco said. “We're going to try to do something with the Pac-12 or Big Ten or a conference like that to play a higher level bowl game in the next cycle, which is coming up in a couple of years."

https://www.google.it/amp/s/www.sbnation...ll-power-6

I wonder if the officiating move has something to do with that reference as it was maybe a move in the making. But, I'm not sure how well the two parts would be connected if they are.

Reduction in overhead and improved quality. IMO the only two conferences that make sense would be either the BXII or C-USA due to location of officials and conference HQ (I realize the AAC has not moved to Dallas yet).

I realize many would be up in arms if it is C-USA but it does make some sense from a financial and quality standpoint. Adding the best of their crew to ours lifts all boats. As it currently stands we get some bad officiating on Saturdays in the fall because of the number of games and the lack of depth in good officials.

I think the cost side of thing needs little explanation.
