Thad Cochran ® Senator from Mississippi has decided to step down effective April 1, 2018 due to health problems. One can only hope that McCain will follow his lead.

Cochran is stepping down due to health reasons, and tom is first to jump in and tell us how great it is for the dems, politically.

That would be interesting. So he'd temporarily give up the Governor's mansion and take a leave of absence to take up a Senate seat? That doesn't make a lot of sense. Especially if Bryant wasn't planning on running himself.
McConnell plus intervention in Southern Senate special elections. What could go wrong?
