UWF is heating up. Now its basketball is trend setting.

UWF men's basketball earns No. 2 seed in first NCAA Tournament bid

UWF should get an invite for membership in the Sun Belt.

UWF is improving rapidly in all sports. Invite them and they will be FBS in four years. Compare the University to Coastal Carolina.

Good for them. I am all for expansion talk, but this some DavidSt level posting. They are the runner up for the D2 national title and a regional 2 seed (basically top 5-8 national rank).

Texas A&M Commerce won D2 national title, they are a regional 5 seed (top 25), and they are located an hour outside of Dallas. Yet, none of us are calling for them to join.

Let them move up to FCS, kick some ass and then we can revisit the subject in a few years.

Both and South Alabama and Ga State went straight from no program to FBS in 4 years. UWF has surpassed them both their first two year records. Plus they have a strong and proven baseball, softball, and tennis programs.

They went straight from no FOOTBALL to the FBS in 4 years. Prior to that they had other athletics and played in D1. When they started football, they played in D1-FCS. UWF has surpassed their records but play in a lower division.

Yes I know. I am an alumni. I meant no football program. The first two years we were unclassified and primarily played DII schools. Actually, it was more like a DIII schedule the first two years.
Please stop pimping out UWF. Nobody is biting here.
UWF and UNF, both with FBS football, would make for an intriguing Sunbelt expansion.

For the quadrillionth time

USA/Ga State had a FBS level stadium to play in
USA/Ga State has D1 sports history and FACILITIES

The Belt does NOT take D2 move ups. There's currently a block on moveups from an existing FCS/D1 conference (the Southland). I fail to see how any D2 team is getting any look by the Belt.

And that's before you get to the fact that USA and Troy will block UWF and others would help.

Nice troll attempt. But no.

Not to mention I am almost positive you can't invite someone from Div II to Div I FBS

Actually West Florida has serious potential as a candidate for the Atlantic Sun, with Big South Football.
West Florida, North Florida, West Georgia, North Georgia, Jax State, and Kennesaw State should all come together and make the FloridaJag Conference
