An influential gay manager, Jason Owen, wrote a letter to the CMA announcing that his artists would no longer work for the Foundation if Mike Huckabee was a member.

Today's form of country music is horrible anyway.
Amazing. Do they not know who listens to country music?

And Mike is one of the nicer politicians out there.

This is the most accurate thing I've read on this forum in a long time

Dude's looking for invites in Hollywood, not in Memphis.
Are we talking a bout the awful pop music Nashville is puking out these days?

No kidding. What the hell happened to country music? Long gone are the days of George Jones, Haggard, Waylon & Willie, and Hank Jr. Even lots of the stuff in the 90s was good - Alan Jackson, George Strait and others. This crap today isn't even listenable.

It's pop music complete with auto tune.

It is Owen's right to disassociate with an organization that normalizes Mike Huckabee, and his campaign to

He literally advocated locking up all people with HIV in internment camps. And then refused to recant it, most notably in 2008 when running for President. He's defended groups seeking to codify laws making all Gay people criminals. And that's just the beginning of his noxious advocacy. Mike might smile (not really) when he gets involved in advocacy, but his policies are very, very evil, and represent an existential threat to the LGBT community.

And then there's his advocacy against women, pro-life (lol) but simultaneously attacks women who have children out of wedlock.

Why would any LGBT person, or anyone who doesn't wish them harm, work with any organization that normalizes Huckabee's views?

I suppose that all of y'all upset with this move would be equally upset by those, like Casey Cagle, advocating punishment by the government no less, for those entities not endorsing the NRA?

I am so glad Texas Country music still sounds like country music.

Get satellite radio and listen to the outlaw country station. They play all the artists you mention. Good mix of old school country and americana.
Zac Brown band is a national treasure. And I'd follow Darius Rucker around the country in an old pick-up if I could.

Yup.

Stapleton,Jamey Johnson, James Carothers and surprisingly to me Aaron Lewis are my favorites these days.
it is only a matter of time before people on the right start standing up and putting pressure on people who hold these unconstitutional and anti-religious beliefs. It is very sad, but at some point people are going to start fighting back and then we will really have problems in this country.

He is not a nice man. He pardon a man from prison, and he went out and killed cops in the state of Washington. He also refused to protect the elderly and the disabled from any price hikes on electricity saying they have to fend for themselves. Had some elderly died because they could not pay their bills during the summer. He was one of the worst Governors in the state of Arkansas.
