We have raised our average score to 74.5 while keeping points allowed to 63.

We push the pace. We don't wait for set plays and 05 on the shot clock every possession. We are not boring.

We have a freshman big man.

All that's left is a conference championship, and then a certain poster can finally retire. God bless.

We don't have a freshman big man, unless something happened that no one else knows about. And that'd be OK w/me

Does 6'-7" no longer count as a big man? If that's the case then I stand corrected

Reece is 6'9 and Ezipke is 6'7 but extremely well build. Those are freshman big men. Also Jarvis Vaughn will be a big man coming in the following year.

When I predicted ODU to be top 75 this year (about a year ago), these were the responses:

We don't have the talent and jones quite frankly isn't a good enough coach.

Top 75 would be great, but don't expect that next year
We likely won't have the players.

We simply do not have the talent to go from a 130 rpi team to a borderline at large team. It's just not going to happen. We don't have the talent and jones quite frankly isn't a good enough coach.

Next time, we will learn to bow down to the old wise one! 04-cheers

LOL. I don't think any of those were mine, but I'll admit that I was skeptical, especially with the way last season ended, and the fact that we didn't seem to add much to the roster other than three freshmen. But Haynes and Porter have both blossomed, and the rest of the guys improved as well.

We have a chance to be better than top 75 this year, and that starts this weekend.
And we are trending in the right direction too. This recruit Reece has been playing really great. Adding him to Porter, Stith, Caver, Kithcart, Godwin, Carver and others, should make for a fine nucleus to keep moving up. Will be interesting to see who we add with last slot too.

Let's find out which grad transfers that MTSU is after and grab them.

And hopefully Huett.
If we don't have the players, did Jones do a good job this year? Asking for a friend.

And FWIW, there were a couple people that said top 75 and it was before we lost Talley, McClinton, and Kah. We could be signficantly better with those 3.

What makes you think Reece (A FRESHMAN) is going to be a "FACTOR" next year?

Every year we talk about the incoming Freshman. When Reece is finally at a point where hes playing solid rotation minutes, Caver will have already graduated along with baby Stith and Porter. Its just the way Jones handles his freshman.

Show me otherwise since most will claim this is blah blah blah hating on Jones.
Quis averaged just over 5 mins a game btw so save it if hes your example.

Jones started Denzel Taylor as a freshman. Granted, he didn't have much to choose from from he was an impact player from the start on the defensive end. Also, he played Talley quite a bit as a redshirt freshman and Green this year. He also played Caver quite a bit as a freshman. We also have Ezikpe coming in and he may get some serious minutes.
We have ONE starter level big on the roster next year in Porter. Carver will get some minutes, but we'll be leaning on both freshmen bigs early and often unless we land a transfer.

Or Carver will play more and the freshman will sit. I’m not upset about it unless they should be seeing the floor more like Quis but just stating. More often then not freshman keeps the seats warm. Redshirts don’t count because they’re a year removed from their class.
