Which would mean we would play Tulsa in the second game. We could get to the semifinals and face Cincinnati. It’s a better draw than the 6 seed because we would play Houston in round two. And we aren’t beating them twice.

Totally disagree-we need to avoid Cincy until Championship game (and hope they get upset before then) as Tulsa is playing them a 8 pt game at their place. We lost by 34 @ Cincy and by 14 recently at home.

Feel free to disagree all you want, I’d rather play Tulsa in second game over Houston. All day everyday for eight days week. Houston is better than Tulsa. If you want our Tigers to make it to the semifinals, going through Houston isn’t the way to do it.
If Tulsa loses to Temple on 3/4, UCF loses to WSU and one of Temple/Tulane and we win out, do we have the 4?

Common sense IMO but some folks will disagree. Tulsa-Cincy is a better route than Houston-Wichita St

First words of your post says it all.

On top of that, I don’t see how we don’t at least win two of our last three games, with playing weak ECU and incredibly super weak South Florida at home to finish the season. So whether anyone likes it or not I’d be shocked to not finish in front of Central Florida.
I’m thinking Central Florida losses today against Temple and then will lose to Wichita State and then beat Tulane to finish 9-9. And thus we finish with a better record to claim the 5 seed.
We match up terribly with Cincy and should hope avoiding them as long as feasible.

We will lose to Cincy and Wichita State 90% of the time. But to get an opportunity to play either of them I would rather play Tulsa than Houston. Common sense

I realize we match up horribly with Cincinnati, that’s not my point. My point is if we want to even make the semifinals we have a better chance of doing that against Tulsa than Houston or Wichita State. Most people would rather play Tulsa than Houston or Wichita State. Both Houston and Wichita are better than Tulsa.
Tigers have a better chance against Houston and Wichita. Cinny are men among boys.

I don’t think you understand what point I’m trying to make. If we finished in the 6 seed we would win our first game and more than likely lose our second game against Houston or Wichita, and thus not even make it the semifinals. We have a better chance of winning our second game against Tulsa and make it to the semifinals. But it’s a mute point because we will probably be the 5 seed and face Tulsa in the second game.
I got your point Joe. However, how do the Tigers avoid Cinny? Best case scenario?

I get it. But I’d rather make it to the semis and face Cincinnati than not make the semis at all.

Exactly. Get the two wins.
They got your point. Yours is about best chance to make a semi.

Theirs is about making and possibly winning the final, hedged by a tougher quarter.

Depends on whether you want to win the tournament or get to semis. Guess Tubby’s gang want the possible extra win for possible NIT consideration.

WHEN TIGERS WANT TO GET TO SEMIS RATHER THAN PLAY A LITTLE TOUGHER TEAM (who could get upset) AND WIN THE WHOLE THING, SOMETHING IS BAD WRONG.

Bottom line is you are going to have to play Cinci eventually if you want to win it all unless you think Tulsa can take them.
Outside chance at the 4 seed and a 1st round bye. Need to win out and Tulsa to lose one - best chance there is against Temple.

Depends on what your end goal is...

Do we want the additional win for our NIT resume or do we dream of winning the tourney?
