We've got three games left in the regular season, after last night's dismantling of Marshall. We need to win two of those three to guarantee a top-four seed in the Conference Tournament in Frisco, without resorting to those messy tiebreakers.
Our remaining schedule:
@UTSA Sunday night 2/25 (7pm)
Home vs. Louisiana Tech Thurs 3/1 (5pm) -- Payback game?!
Home vs. North Texas Saturday 3/3 (4:30pm)
(first round CUSA at Frisco 3/7 midday -or- bye)
CUSA Quarterfinals at Frisco Thursday 3/8 (11|11:30|1:30|2)
CUSA Semifinals at Frisco Friday Night 3/9 (5:30 or 8:00pm)
CUSA Finals at Frisco Saturday Afternoon 3/10 (4:30 pm)
We have 4 conference losses but still have a chance to avenge all four of those losses(!)
Besides the home-and-home rematch with LaTech, we could get another chance at FIU if we're in the 3/4 seed and they make the tourney as an 11/12 seed and get past their first round matchup. Then we could catch 1 or 2 UAB in the semis, and maybe a hot MTSU in the final sneaking up from the 4, 5 or 6 spot.
We've still got a ways to go, but I like that after our shaky road play, that all of our remaining conference games are being played right here in THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS. Hope we can run the table on these and turn THE STAR IN FRISCO into a bit of a Home Court away from home for our Lady Owls!
UAB 11-2
WKU 11-2
RICE 9-4
CHAR 8-4
MTSU 8-6
LATECH 8-6
UNT 6-7
ODU 6-8
UTEP 5-7
FAU 4-8
UTSA 4-9
FIU 4-9
MARSH 2-12
